We stayed at Summerhill for 4 nights from May 28th to June 1st 2013. We would thoroughly recommend staying at Summerhill. The room was very light, airy, clean and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent and we received a friendly welcome from the owner, Cornelius O'Sullivan for whom nothing was too much trouble.

I have visited Summer Hill B & B twice now; 2 years ago with my cousin Patrick and last year with my friend Linda, and I can't wait to go back again this year. Neil O'Sullivan is THE BEST. He could not do enough for us. Neil makes you feel like you are at home. He does no crowd you;... More

I stayed here for two nights in April and found it clean and warm. The owner is very friendly. It was cheaper to stay two nights than one. Had a lovely walk around Dunboy castle as recommended by the owner.

We had a great stay. You just have to walk five minutes to reach the centre of Castletownbere and the view from the B&B is absolutely nice. You can see the hills around Castletownbere. Everything was absolutely neat and clean. If you have any problems, ask the owner and he will try to help you. It was a fantastic service.... More

A winter stay and a late arrival. Heating was put on in rooms and they heated up fairly quickly. Not the prettiest of locations but as it was a stop off it did the job. Breakfast was great if you love the irish breakfast so we were set up nicely for the day. Rooms were clean and comfortable.

Pleasant enough, adjacent to town, but beware of noise factor, you can hear fellow guests snoring! Also pillows were lumpy.... breakfast were good, have had better brown bread in most other guest houses

We stayed in this guesthouse recently and were delighted with our choice. The house was immaculate and we were given a choice of rooms. The rooms were great with good ensuite. Very bright and airy. We were given tea on arrival which was very welcome after a long journey. Our host was so nice and gave us an excellent recommendation... More

The B&B is fine, but has its issues. The house is modern and built in an era of dodgy Irish building regulations, which means there is little or no sound insulation, so expect to hear everyone's TV's, light switches being thrown etc., The sheets are poly-cotton and the rooms are bare. However the place is clean, there's plenty of hot... More

Actually got this recommendation from a local at the pub when we were looking for a place to stay. Rooms were clean, very large and roomy and all ensuite.ideal for families. Host really nice and friendly. Made a great recommendation for dinner and also a fine cook as he made all the breakfasts as well. Gave us some good tips... More

We were given a choice of rooms! We decided just the bed and bathroom would be sufficient. We were here in Castletownbere to meet up with family and were able to walk into town and enjoyed a night at the pub. Had a great nights sleep with ensuite bathroom! and beautiful breakfast. Great host, very friendly, thank you...we definitely recommend.
