An authentic Irish experience is what you’ll receive in this charming, warm and friendly B&B. When traveling to the Dublin area, I wouldn’t stay anywhere else but this delightful home in beautiful Howth. Convenient to the Dublin airport and nearby DART train, getting around Dublin is convenient and easy. Sean, the host, is so welcoming and accommodating, suggesting delicious area... More

Sean's place was rather hard to find initially when we first arrived in Howth. A kind woman which we met in the corner store drove us to his place. It was raining and damp and Sean prepared a nice cup of tea along with some sweets which we very much appreciated. The breakfast that he served the next morning was... More

We arrived after traveling over night and all day due to weather delays. Claimed that they had computer problems even though we had re-confirmed two weeks before. They had made reservations at another B&B close by and showed us over to the place. We went from a 1 out of 4 B&B to a 4 out of 4. But then... More

We arrived at this B&B late in the afternoon of our first day in Ireland. The host, Sean, greeted us, encouraged us to settle in (we planned to stay for two nights) and suggested he make reservations for us for dinner. To top it off, he drove us to the waterfront of Howth, dropped us off at the restaurant, and... More

Sean, our host is a charm and so helpful. This B&B is in a lovely quiet location (cliffs and beach just a stroll away). The breakfasts were delicious (kids couldn't get enough of the soda bread). Set in beautiful grounds this is a real gem. The rooms are pleasant and Sean is so friendly and obliging. More

Sean is the best thing about this B&B. Great guy, and very helpful in every way. But the B&B has much to be desired. Our room (#2) has the shower door improperly installed backwards so it is virtually impossible to enter the small shower if you weigh more than 130 pounds (seriously!). The bath towels (dried on an outside clothes... More

The small B&B in Howth does have plenty of "character" and his name is Sean, but the rooms are small and haven't been updated or dusted in awhile. Linens are very old and scratchy. Any positive reviews are probably not too recent.... More

Sean was a wonderful host. He picked us up at the train station and drove us to the airport. He had great local advise and was a great storyteller. His 94 year old mother adds to the charm of the place. The room itself is not fancy but is adequate and a very good value for the area. Everything is... More

We stayed three nights at Gleann-na-Smol with Sean and his 94 year-old mother, Kitty, who had worked in her garden three days the week before. Sean is a perfect Irish host- - a combination of story-teller, ambassador, tour guide, chef, and laundry expert. I would recommend this establishment without reservation. Clean, comfortable, safe and a great home base. Walk to... More

This was a great place to stay while visiting Dublin. Sean was a most gracious host, offering us a ride to and from the DART station when we travelled into Dublin. Our room was spacious and pleasant and breakfast was great. More
