Of the 10 B&Bs we stayed at during our visit this was probably our least favorite. While the rooms were spacious and clean, the host seemed annoyed whenever we encountered him. He was not very welcoming. The breakfast was okay, but pretty greasy. On the other hand, the location was great. We walked to a local hotel pub for Lunch... More

Very pleasant stay, great staff. Excellent location. Nice and cosy which is needed in Connemara. Would highly recommend. The boat trip in killary is a must as is walking around the area. The food in the restaurant was very tasty and Chris along with all the staff were very helpful.

Leenaun is a nice little town set on the fjord and there are great views (and big winds) everywhere in town. This place had a good location slightly up on a hill with amazing views from the restaurant (and maybe some of the rooms - not ours, though). Owner and staff were friendly and the place was overall quite nice.... More

Enjoyed a midweek break there recently having availed of a special offer. Recommended, friendly & helpful staff in a beautiful location. Situated perfectly to travel around and enjoy the fantastic scenery, local bars & restaurants as well as the company of the friendly locals we met during our break.

I just spent Easter weekend staying at Portfinn lodge with a group of fellow Scubadivers. The weather was bitterly cold so it was great to come back from a day out at sea to a warm room and consistently hot showers. We ate in the restaurant at Portfinn Lodge and it was a pleasure. Excellent food for both breakfast and... More

Stayed her for one night last Thursday having booked on line. We were the only two staying as they were just opening for the season. While the room was comfortable the smell of fresh paint kept me awake all night and gave me a whopping headache. We selected this guest house as it had its own restaurant on site but... More

Dear Reviewer, Thank you for taking the time to review Portfinn Lodge and Fjord Restaurant. I am sorry that your stay was not satisfactory. We did indeed spend a lot of time over the winter redecorating to improve the quality of our bedrooms. If you had informed a member of staff at the time we would of gladly moved you... More

We came to Portfinn to stay our 2nd night in Leenane after a dreadful stay somewhere else. Boy do I wish we would've picked Portfinn to begin with! My husband walked in early that morning hoping to get a room and they not only managed to find us one on short notice, but they also had it ready very quickly.... More

We stayed in Port Finn at the beginning of September. The views were really beautifully, situated overlooking Kllary Fjord (apparently the only one in Ireland. I was to discover that a movie called The Field was filmed there - super film by the way. The guesthouse we very comfortable and I can understand why they call it Guesthouse AND Seaflood... More

My party dined at the Portfinn one evening at the end of our holiday. Staff were welcoming but we waited ages for food to arrive and when it came was dissapointing, rack of lamb requested rare was medium and vegetables unexciting. We should complained but having waited so long all we wanted to do was get out of the place.... More

Just back from a wonderful 2 night break at the Portfinn Lodge with our 3 children. The food here is fantastic. The breakfast is freshly cooked and wonderful. We had dinner last night, seated by the window with a lovely view over Killary Harbour. Our son said the calamari was the best he ever tasted. For main courses we had... More
