Approaching the hotel, as we drove through the local neighbourhood we did wonder if we had made a good choice for our bank holiday break. We stayed one night recently on a half board rate in a luxurious college room. These are located in the Grade II listed part of the hotel and with their large beams and arched leaded... More

I stayed here with my wife for a couple of days and stayed in one of the college rooms (Balliol), the room was excellent, very large with big beams spanning the width of the room and furnished to an a very high standard. The bathroom had a big bath and very good shower, the only minor point is it could... More

This is the second of three hotels I've stayed in within two weeks on Business, and has to be the worst. The location, grounds, building and styling are top class and cannot be faulted. Staff were helpful and offered to help with luggage, and made sure I knew where everything was. That said, I wish I had accepted the help... More

A celebration of a special birthday over the Bank Holiday weekend. 3 nights with numbers staying and having dinner varying between 9 and 15 people. Everyone had a great time, the hotel has good facilities and they were brilliant at dinner and breakfast where we had our own separate table throughout the stay. They clearly know how to recruit the... More

First impression is that the hotel is hiding behind an NCP carpark, which is a shame because the hotel buildings are quite attractive - even the newer parts which are a sympathetic addition to the original structures. I stayed just for one night, but was happy I choose to stay here. Attractive grounds, nice river location, clean rooms and good... More

Lovely location and very pleasant service at reception. Found the double bed to be very small and narrow with only one pillow each. Sliding door to garden was unlocked and then when we locked it we couldn't find any key for it. The main hall by recption is nice although the dim lighting makes it difficult to read easily. SOme... Stayed at the Thames Four Pillars with the family over the Easter break to attend my niece's wedding. Very comfortable large bedroom (Connoiseur Chic), super swimming pool & leisure facilities & excellent evening meals, buffet breakfasts and general service. The hotel is only a few miles outside of Oxford, has lovely grounds & you can walk along the riverbank right... More

A brief stay here, but very positive. My wife and I stayed in the College Rooms section, which is at the less expensive end of the spectrum, not enormous, but perfectly fine and well appointed, and decent value for money particularly if you go for the weekend dinner inclusive deal. I would definitely come back, perhaps with an upgrade: the... More

We spent a long weekend and found the service, food and room to be excellent. Grounds bordered the Thames and were well kept.Would recommend it. More

We stayed here for a recent wedding. A very impressive hotel, lots of beautiful grounds & the Thames right on the door step. The staff were very helpful as we arrived and right through our stay. We had a large family room with a sofa bed for our 6 year old, our bed was comfortable though not particularly big (just... More
