I stayed at The Old Bakery B&B for 4 nights during a business trip recently. The place is immaculately clean and meticulously maintained on a daily basis. The room I stayed in was spacious and comfortable with all the amenities required. It had a large comfortable double bed with nice quality linen. The bathroom, although not strictly en suite was... What an amazing place! The Old Bakery is a beautifully characterful B&B with lovely attention to detail. Breakfast was delicious and the hosts were really welcoming, even with our three children and their enormous appetites! Would recommend this ace to anyone who likes character and quality.

A delightful comfortable spotless and quiet B and B. Rooms en suite little extras in bedrooms and fresh milk on request. We arrived hot and tired but we were offered tea in the "Secret Garden" the sun was actually out and we soon relaxed amid lovely flowers and the warm hospitality from David and Sarah Asplin. Nothing ws too much... More

I was made very welcome at this comfortable and well appointed B&B. Very nice room with a comfortable bed and tasteful surroundings. The room was quiet and had good tea and coffee making facilities. My own shower room and toilet next door was spacious and more than adequate. Toiletries were provided. Breakfast was in the family morning room and was... More

We had 2 nights here in the New England room which is a very comfortable good size room with a sofa to just sit and read if you wish. Sarah and David were very helpful and welcoming. Breakfast was very good with lots of choice. We ate in one of the local pubs on our first night as we were... More

We stayed overnight here to break a long journey. It's perfectly placed very close to the M5 but far enough away to feel a million miles away. It's set in a quiet village with a choice of pubs within a couple of minutes walk. The building itself is really amazing, and the room was spacious, comfortable and spotless. The village... More

We found the Old Bakery using a search engine, as we had to attend a family funeral nearby and didn't want to travel back to Kent on the same day. How glad we did. This was the best B&B we have stayed in yet. The rooms were wonderful. They were spotless and well appointed. The hosts were charming. The breakfast... More

Perfect accommodation, large rooms near new bathrooms. Great host, the best we have stayed in on this trip to the UK. Excellent value for money. Great local church to visit built in early 13 century. Pubs could improve their meals a little.

The Old Bakery is interesting in its own right with lots of original features and has lovely gardens. Our room was spacious, clean and well appointed with a very comfortable bed. Breakfast was extremely generous and tasty with an excellent range of choices, but in any event David and Sarah, who are warm and generous hosts, are more than happy... More

The Old Bakery is a comfortable and stylish Bed and Breakfast in the heart of the village of Uffculme in Mid-Devon. The property is about 300 years old and although totally modernised, retains many of its original features. The bakery has now been converted into a games room which is popular with our younger (and older!) visitors. We have a stunning courtyard to the rear of the house where breakfasts may be served in the summer, and you can take afternoon tea in the beautiful walled garden which has wonderful views over the rooftops of Uffculme to the rolling Blackdown Hills beyond. In our home you have a choice of four comfortable rooms with en suite and private bathrooms and single, double and 4-poster beds. The large rooms have space for an extra fold-up bed on request. Uffculme is in the heart of an incredibly beautiful area of mid-Devon, full of wonderful places to explore whatever your interests, stunning countryside and breathtaking views and walks. We are within easy reach of many renowned beauty spots and are close to Tiverton, Cullompton, Wellington, Honiton, Taunton and Exeter. About 30 minutes drive from the nearest sandy beaches at Exmouth, the north coast of Devon can be reached in about 50 minutes. ... more   less
