This is about the worst Hotel I have ever stayed in, and I am often away for business. There is no breakfast, the atmosphere is daunting, bedroom reeked of smoke and the toilet seat was brocken. The bath was such that I didn’t wash. I needed to ask for a towel. Most miserable stay ever. Avoid like the plague! How... More

My husband and I travelled to stay at the raven lodge because we were going on a night out with friends and it was easier for us to stay somewhere for the night, what a mistake that was. From the outside its looks ok but inside it was a totally different story. For starters going up to the room the... More

I travelled to St Helens to visit a friend, and was extremely lucky to be staying in such good accommodation! The staff were friendly and it was owned by an extremely wonderful and welcoming couple. I would definitely reccommend this to anyone who's looking to stay in the area. I even made an extra friend with the pub's dog.

I stayed at The Raven for a couple of nights and the staff were very welcoming and friendly. The rooms have recently been refurbished and the room I stayed in was lovely, light browns and cream with a big wooden bed and felt very homely. It's a 3 minute walk away from the train station and a 20 minute train... More

The bed looked clean at 1st glance but when you pulled back the duva the white sheet was dirty and damp, had to put my towel on the bed before sleeping in it. No heating in the room accept for a tiny electric heatre which took all night to warm the room. No tea or coffee, dirty cups and no... More

In spite of the reviews I decided to chance it based on the one good review that implied there had been a turn around. Unfortunately I was wrong. Although the room was clean, the sheet was damp and unusable. The instructions for escape in event of fire was not displayed. Egress in event of fire could be difficult. The usual... More

I was visiting St Helens for work and stayed at the raven, it has just been taken over by a couple. The past reviews are nowhere near the experience i had. the staff are friendly and the rates are a lot less than advertised on the website.

Was down for business and travelling about in this area carrying out shop surveys. As my 1st visit of the Tuesday Morning was in St. Helens, I decided to drive down from Manchester and stay there so I could be bright and early for my 1st appointment. I looked up accommodation in St. Helens and found the Raven Lodge, looked... More
