Reception was very smooth and efficient,our room was spotless and the view from our 18'x6' balcony was wonderful.We overlooked the pool and the beach,so our balcony was well used.This was a superior room and well worth the extra,we even had a small fully fitted kitchen with full sized fridge.Could not fault the breakfast,but dinner was not really upto 4star i.e.always... We have just returned from Villamoura and stayed at the Ampalius. Last year we stayed at the sister hotel marina which was great for our generation in the hotel. Comfortable break. Hotel is a little tired, but very clean. Waiting staff very good as are the cleaning staff - cheerful and pleasant. Breakfast was good, choice was varied, something for everyone. Stayed at ths hotel with friends for a quick early break, it is in an ideal location, buffet breakfast very good and bar prices not extortionate. The staff are friendly and courteous and the indoor pool and spa is an added bonus if the weather is changeable. All round a good choice and we experienced no noise from the casino. More
