arriving off the Hurtigruten for a driving tour of North Norway we booked two nights at Sollia after reading the TA reviews and it was as good as expected. Its an easy place to find about 15mins out of kirkenes (by car) right next to the russian border station and just before the turning to Grense Jakobselv (which is well... More

4 days and 4 friends in a magical white surrounding. A place which will welcome you as if you were part of the family: warm smiles, tasty Norwegian recepies and the just the perfect amount of comfort needed. The perfect location for those who look for tranquillity, endless cross country trips, safari in the wildness with huskies and (hopefully) breathtaking... More

We chose the weekend which was the coldest in 2012 to visit in 2013 (beginning of Febrary), hoping for some clear cold weather to see the northern lights. This year however was unusually warm: just a few degrees below freezing. So if you have limited time (or aren't coming on the popular Hurtigruten cruise, so that you might have a... More

Wonderful staff and remote location. It's about a 15 minute drive from Hurtigruten or from the airport. We stayed in a lovely cabin where we had a wood stove and dry firewood ready to go, in addition to electric heating. We came only for one night, to complete a "crab safari" which is, in my opinion, the only reason to... More

We stayed in cabin 5 after leaving the Hurtigruten ship. We booked a husky trip and we were picked up from the boat. After leaving our bags in our cabin we went on a wonderful husky ride. You are dressed in an all in one suit and boots, and hats and gloves are available, so don't worry if you think you... More

We stayed here two night as part of an Inn Travel package and the accommodation comfortable but cabins better than single room with kitchenette which was rather cramped. Husky dog sledging was a fantastic and genuine experience and we had fun at night in the 'wilderness camp' around the fire and in the tent cooking sausages waiting in vain to... More

We spent two nights at on of Sollia's 2-bedroom cottages before we boarded the southbound Hurtigruten boat. Although it was very cold (- 25 degrees), the cottages were warm and cosy. There was also a fire we lit the first evening (the restaurant was closed due to Xmas holiday, so we catered for ourselves). The two bedrooms are tiny, but... More

We arrived at kirkenes airport to be picked up by the shuttle bus and delivered straight to the door of our room. Traveling with a friend, we were upgraded to separate rooms as they had the availability at no extra charge. We spent three days here and loved the atmosphere and the friendly staff just made our stay so much... More

This place is just great! There are the mainbuilding that served as hospital during World War II, a motel, some spacious cabins and a restaurant called "Gapahuken"(the restaurant is situated near the shore of "Pikevannet" lake). There are also a dogfarm here (they won`t disturb you!). The place are to be found just outside Kirkenes, very idyllic scenery and not... More
