This was our second stay at the Vasco da Gama, bed and breakfast. Our room was first class, overlooking the garden and the sea beyond that. Breakfast was excellent and catered for all tastes. just returned from this hotel which was first hotel built in montegordo in 1957, the decor reflects this. it is an excellent 3 -4star hotel in my opinion and could not have been better. the location is superb, right on the beautiful beach. the breakfast was great, plenty to choose from for anyones taste, i only went bed and breakfast... My wife and I are currently staying in this hotel and return to the UK. on the 1st. June. I am surprised at how many elderly people stay here (mainly Dutch) as there are so many stairs. Stairs to enter the hotel, 16 steps down to the restaurant, same down to the pool area. Even some down to the back... More

After a couple of years away we returned to the VdG. It was like coming home. Great service, the hotel responded to our e-mail request for a top floor room, great breakfasts, fantastic lunch on the beach ... If you want the hotel will provide beach towels so less to carry from home.

Stayed in a garden room, very pleasant surroundings. Self catering facilities, but we didn't use them seemed well equipped. Had breakfast in hotel. Found the 7.30 - 10.30 am time really good. Excellent swimming pool.
