A great little place away from the tourists. Very friendly, relaxed and helpful. Don't miss eating at Marys Blue Shack across the street!! A definite for great food and friendly service. Living among the locals was great compared to living among the tourists along the beach.

We had an amazing time at Casitas Kinsol, and wouldn't hesitate a second in writing them a review! It's hard to pinpoint exactly what made our vacation so perfect. It could have been that the Casitas are located in a town that is soooo charming and tranquil compared to the tourist traps at either end of the highway. The food... More

Oasis...the exact word I used to describe this guest house, before I read Arleen's earlier review. My significant other and I spent three too-short nights here, far away from the tourist traps of Playa Del Carmen. Alain was a gracious host who continually steered us in the right direction regarding local food and fare. Unfortunately, Christine was out of town,... More

This was just what we wanted! We stayed here a few days after traveling for a month and we were tired. We loved the village (although going to the beach is always an option-so close and easy to get there) It was a great place to catch the bus to the airport! Alain was very welcoming and so helpful---He gave... More

We had been told about this little place by a friend. Tell any taxi it is in 'La Colonia' side of Ruta 307 - it is NOT in the main Puerto area but it is only 5 mins away by taxi ride (20 pesos) or cheaper by bus to reach the main Puerto area, with wonderful beaches, calm sea, great... More

It can be isolating while traveling even as a tourist so when you find a place than really makes you feel welcome it is like a breath of fresh air. Casita Kinsol is an oasis of faceless hotels. I stayed 5 days and had a great experience hanging out and meeting interesting people and getting great suggestions about all the... More

Casita Kinsol is a great place to stay! Its clean, beautiful and the owners are very friendly and very helpful in answering all you questions about Puerto Morelos (they speak English, French, Spanish and German). Each room has a unique design. There is a nice courtyard with an outdoor kitchen (mostly for the owners use) covered by trees in a... More

Casitas Kinsol… where shall I start raving about this gorgeous little gem set in a lush tropical garden with accommodations varying from beautiful rooms surrounded by treetops to cosy authentic palapa's..?! The whole place is overwhelmingly peaceful; entering Kinsol is like taking a joyful and soothing bath with the air being filled by the happy tweets of tropical bird! It's... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Casitas Kinsol is a Guest House with 8 rooms for rent in Puerto Morelos, on the Mayan Riviera, 25 minutes South of the airport international of Cancun and 4 blocks from the main bus stop in town. It resides in the heart of the “Colonia” of Puerto Morelos conveniently located between Cancun and Playa del Carmen and only 2 miles to the beach. Surrounded by many eateries, grocery stands and stores, it offers 8 romantic rooms and bungalows: 4 with kitchenettes and 4 without. All the rooms have basic amenities at low prices for double occupancy. The rooms come with private baths, hot showers, air fans and a unique décor designed by the owners. Most of them come with WI-FI. Room #1:The Master Room is (as well as the room 8) an authentic Mayan hut where Mayan people used to leave until the early 1990's. It has been converted to a large room with its private bathroom. The thatched roof was replaced by a stucco one with two skylights. Two small windows were added to bring some more light to the room. It has cement floor and tiles in the large bathroom. It is a very large standalone, ground floor, hut style bungalow, complete with a full-size (double) bed and one twin-size (single) bed, so it will accommodate 3 persons. Private bathroom and kitchenette. It offers a refrigerator and two burner stove-top but no ovens or microwave. No microwave or standard ovens, no dishwasher either. This room has a front door allowing you to exit onto the boulevard without having to go through the grounds but also a backdoor giving you access to the gardens and relaxation areas as well. ... more   less
