We stayed at the Resort for three nights, giving us enough time to explore the area. The Spa Room is spacious and had two double sized beds which was exactly what our family needed. We were welcomed with a bottle of champagne to celebrate the anniversary which was rather nice! The room has a spacious balcony with lounge chairs -... More

The staff were friendly and down to earth. The room was newly refurbished and beautiful, huge tv, 2 queen beds, great decor, very cosey. The only bugs were ants, and that's only because I left a cup glazed with coke sitting on the bench, no other problems, but if there were any bugs I wouldn't be fussed becaused it is... More

I really can't understand all the bad feedback this hotel has received recently, as I have just finished my stay at Sails in the Desert, and it was fantastic. I stayed here with my partner for 3 days, in May. We booked a standard room. I was pleasantly surprised at how spacious the rooms were were. The new decor is... More

From the time that we arrived at Sails in the Desert we were welcomed by very courteous Lobby Staff who took our bags and said they would take them to our rooms. We then went to Reception to check in, Staff we very helpful and advised us of the Renovations which we knew before we arrived. The rooms that we... More

Lovely location, very helpful reception (allowed a room change). Food at the resort by the pool is above average quality though cold outside at night. A few well placed gas lanterns would help. Prices at the restaurant at the shopping village over the top especially for breakfast. Great views from some rooms (ask) and decent coffee available in foyer (at... More

I was a bit nervous about going here due to some of the reviews on this site. My husband and I were overwhelmingly surprised at how wonderful this hotel is. Yes, there are some renovations. But these have been managed in the best possible way and did not effect our stay at all (plus the complimentary drink vouchers were a... More

Dear Heidi K, Thank you for such positive feedback. It is wonderful to read that you had a magnificent time whilst staying at Sails in the Desert Hotel and enjoyed the facilities and the vast array of activities available in and around the resort. It is our aim to minimise the impact caused by our hotel’s refurbishment program on our... More

Pretty much all the previous posts regarding cost and monopoly apply. The staff was a mized bag, some service was great some was barely adequate. We originally had a reservation for Emu Walk apartments, but it was so terrible and poorly arranged we transferred to a suite at the Sails for triple the money. The newly rennovated suite still seemed... More

The hotel is undergoing a complete rehab and we were not told when we made our booking. The place is a major construction site. Heavy machinery and jack hammering from 7:00 am until 5 pm producing clouds of filth and dust. The only time you can go for a swim is when the workers stop for lunch. None of the... More

Dear Harold K, It is greatly appreciated that you have provided us with your comments so I can in turn discuss in depth your feedback with the managers at the hotel. I am sorry to hear that the on site contractors were operating outside their designated times. I have reminded the on site manager of their restrictions. In addition, I... More

For such a remote hotel it exceeded my expectations. Rooms were nice and quiet. Does cost a fair bit but you can expect that in the NT. Service was wonderful!!!! Pool is fantastic and the bar offers a great variety of cocktails! :P YUM! More

"Sails" purports to be the most up-market (4.5*) hotel in the Yulara resort that has a virtual monopoly on tourist visits to Uluru (Ayers Rock). However, as noted by other travellers, the hotel area is a building site, with no on-site restaurant and ridiculously bad facilities overall. The refurbished rooms have eco-hostile features like plug-less bathroom sinks (so much for... More

Dear Brendan_Rossa Firstly, thank you for taking the time to provide such detailed feedback. It is disconcerting to read your comments about Sails in the Desert Hotel, and other resort facilities. As a company we strive to ensure that all our guest’s expectations are exceeded and it is unsatisfactory to hear that we did not achieve this during your recent... More
