We stayed in our camper van and used an unpowered site as we have our own solar panels and inverter. This is just a beautiful place to be. Ammenities are wonderful and the staff are great. Relaxing and quiet. We saw a bandicoot feeding near our chairs the first night and in the morning woke up to a mob of... More

A visit to carnarvon gorge is a MUST. Its a beautiful part of Australia. We Wish we could have stayed longer. Amenities clean, showers a bit on the small size but lovely and hot. Only one thing missing, Would have liked to have a fire place on our site. Enjoyed the 5pm informative talk, helpful for planning your stay.

We have just got back from a 3 night stay in a takka tent. They were so much bigger than we expected, there was a big distance between them and our balcony backed onto the creek. there was so much wildlife throughout the park. The last night we were there after we had done a big walk we opted for... More

This was a lovely place to camp, with a host of modern amenities. The staff were very professional and the office / general store had lots of items (ice, bread, BBQ meat, ice-creams, toiletries, souvenirs) in the event that you forget anything. We stayed in the unpowered section for tents - lots of trees and wildlife close by, and the... More

A very professionally run and well maintained camp & caravan park. The staff were all lovely. We had a great 2 course meal for $25 on the deck where you could meet other campers. There were huge open camp kitchens, communal firepits, a laundry and large modern bathrooms (with modular shower cubicals) which were well cleaned every day. No dump... More

We stayed here just after Easter this year (2013). We were there with a group of friends who stayed in the Taka Tents (with which they were all very happy) but we were travelling in a motorhome. The campsite was beautiful, extremely well-maintained and run. Every evening there was a campfire near to the excellent camp kitchen - a great... More

This place is amazing! The staff were so friendly and helpful and the facilities are first-class. Camp kitchens are very well equipped, the water is good and bathrooms are excellent. Our caravan is on-road only but managed the gravel road well. Highly recommended.

We recently stayed at Takarakka in a camper trailer on an unpowered site. The site was nice and roomy and the setting was lovely. The staff, Brett and Kathy, went beyond the call of duty with their help to us. The swimming spot is lovely and wildlife is prolific. We loved the pretty faced wallabies. The road in was fine,... That resort is a camping site with fixed tent on platforms to be rented. The thing is that if you dont have any camping gears to cook yourself a meal, no meals are served on weekends, you have to go to the next door (1 km) expensive restaurant. The facilities, tent, showers, outside kitchen where clean. As for the outdoor... More

Great facilities here for a visit to Carnarvon Gorge, amenities are well maintained and the camp kitchens also. Swimming in the creek and Platypus seeking was fun, but could do with some more facilities for kids. Holds a lot of people without feeling busy. If the Spit is on when you are there, it may seem pricey but is well... More
