This is an older hotel. Windows sealed. Spacious rooms with washing machine etc. As others have said it is tired and and needs updating. Staff courteous. The $200 deposit is unjustified, used cash to ensure money back in morning. Car parking opposite is $10 if in after 4pm and out before 7am.

I had to stay one night only during a business trip recently. Easy walking to conference venue, being near to foodie places, and hopefully being clean were on my wish-list. I was having my room paid for, so otherwise $220 would be on my Visa bill. I had a separate bedroom, comfy lounge room, very well appointed kitchen, laundry facilities... More

I booked a 1 bedroom suite (55 sq metres) for 1 night for $212 USD via agoda.com. As a solo traveller, the accommodation was more than adequate. Having a small kitchen makes the tea-brewing experience far more civilised than in your standard soulless 25 sq metre 4* business hotel room! Speaking of which, I found the hospitality tray well stocked... More

Stayed with our 7 year old and found the staff friendly. Like others have posted the rooms are a bit dated which impacts the perceived cleanliness. Could use a mirror outside the bathroom. We were in 404 which appears smaller than other apartments on the fire plan, but was more than enough space for us. Really appreciated such space right... More

In the heart of the Brisbane CBD with pretty much everything within walking distance this hotel is well located within easy reach to restaurants, casino, entertainment, cultural, gardens and the Brisbane River. Oozing old world charm it is heritage listed with original 19th century features, is tastefully refurbished and very comfortable. My wife and I stayed in a sub-penthouse suite... More

Have stayed here twice in the last 12 months. Initially it was for its central location in Brisbane CBD then as a weekend escape with my partner. Being an older style boutique hotel, the rooms are on average much larger than equivalent room types I've stayed in elsewhere. I can understand that some people may find older hotel's 'stale' but... This hotel is in the centre of Brisbane city, so a good location if you want to be close to the action. I stayed for business in May 2013 for one night. I stayed in a one bedroom suite and whilst the room was one of the largest I have stayed in, it was old and dated. The cleanliness of... More

I stayed here for a couple of nights on a business trip. Great rooms, nice and large. Love the high ceilings. Great location and great value. The cafe near the entrance of the hotel is awful. Very BA and rude service. Go somewhere else to eat. I'd stay in the hotel again though.

Dear Niveus Thank you for your review. I am sorry to hear that you received poor service from the café. Although it is an integral part of the hotel, it is run as a separate business which we have little control over. It is also disappointing as from my own observations and feedback from guests, the service and quality has... More

My husband and I stayed in a one bedroom suite at the Royal Albert in Brisbane for one night on Friday May 3, 2013 and were slightly disappointed. Judging by the reviews on Trip advisor and the pictures on the hotel's website, we were expecting a really nice, old-fashioned hotel. We got old alright. It is in a great locations... More

Thank you for pointing out our competitive car parking rates and our central location right at the epicentre of Brisbane. Like most hotels, we do process a pre-auth to cover accommodation and extras. On guest requests after check out, we fax banks to release the pre-auth. Whilst most banks release these promptly, some of the smaller credit unions (such as... More

We stayed in the Royal Albert Hotel Brisbane for two nights, 8th/9th of May 2013. It was for our 5th wedding anniversary. I can't fault this place one bit. From the minute we drove into the car park, we were greeted by the wonderful receptionist who carried our luggage to reception for a super quick check in. At first you... More

Dear GG Thank you for your great comments and for choosing us for your 5th wedding anniversary – Happy Anniversary! Exactly! I still remember the time I walked into the hotel and was taken aback by the magnificent wide and ornate hallways and spacious rooms. All this and just 120 paces from the epicentre of Brisbane! Usually we do have... More
