The 3 bedroom apartment Garrick Street end, overlooking the pool, was a great place to spend a week. So handy to the beach (short 3 minute walk), and shops/restaurants only 4 minutes walk in the other direction. We parked our vehicle safely onsite for the week, and walked everywhere. We must make special mention of the wonderful property manager -... More

This is excellent if you are looking for clean, spacious and centrally located accommodation. A holiday where you are not looking to stay in a resort full time but use the apartment/room as a base to explore from and relax in the evening, enjoy a BBQ, glass of good wine and a swim! The apartments are all a little different... More

i stayed at tropical reef port douglas last year for a family vacation in the september holiday, apart from walking in with the oven already on, hot stuffy, the plants were dead on the balcony, mould was growing on the artificial grass, bbqs were still dirty from the last lot of visitors and to find my two teenage girls were... We recently stayed at the Tropical Reef Apartments with our 4 year old & 6 month old baby for 10 nights. The apartments were in an awesome location (couple mins walk to beach & main street), & they were clean & had all that we needed. If you are looking for a luxurious resort with all the mod cons, then... More

We did not stay even the one night as we found a cockroach running about in one of the beds and a couple more under the beds. when we tried to talk to the manager, his attitude on the phone was rude and insulting. More

Yes, this place is older & could use a facelift, but it is still clean. Not to mention, we found it incredibly spacious! Our balcony was right off our main lounge, the kitchen was large, we had a washer and dryer in our apartment, and we couldn't have been happier. (and we had been to a LOT of places in... More

Upon our arrival we were quite dissapointed, we were expectng something a lot nicer and a bit bigger. Lounge area struggled to fit four adults comfortably, couches were very uncomfotable. Airconditioner in upstairs room was very, very noisy - struggled to sleep at night and the shower only had half a door, so water would go everywhere. Most of the... More

Very nice apartment hotel. Somewhat old, but kept in good condition. Staff is very helpful. Good location in central Port Douglas, close to the beach. Walking distance. Minus for the small pool (actually 2) and the noisy ACs. More

4 girlfriends and I stayed at Tropical Reef for a week last week and it was fantastic! Booked through the hotels website we got a rate of $1260 for 7 nights which really couldn't be beaten for a two bedroom, 2 bathroom, full kitchen, balcony and huge roof top terrace on the upper level. All of this overlooked one of... More
