We spent 3 nights at the Kingfisher Bay Resort. And while Fraser Island lives up to its Unesco World Heritage Site billing, the resort did not. The mainland reception area was pleasant, the staff well trained and the ferry ride to the island enjoyable. Our room had a spacious deck overlooking the lagoon and the room itself was a good... Stayed for a single night as part of a longer east coast trip. We paid 120 for a room with 2 double beds as a last minute booking. Very smooth check in and ferry crossing. The rooms, whilst adequate, need updating. I wouldn't be happy paying peak rates for the standard they currently are. Better than a motel room but... More

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights to experience a paradise island made of sand, so was expecting a lovely hotel on the beach with a view of the sea. What we got was a dinghy hotel room in front of a stagnant pond that was a breeding ground for mosquitos. So, if you are keen on mosquitos this... More

We stayed for 2 nights over Easter, the resort was very nice, my daughter loved the pools and made loads of friends. My husband and I could relax while she played so was nice for all of us. We stayed in one of the hotel rooms which was not very nice at all. They definitely need an upgrade, it was... More

We went there for a relaxing 3 days. Could not have asked for more. On mainland check-in was efficient and pleasurable. when we got to the island, our luggage turned up in the room as promised. The room itself was very comfortable and clean. Maybe starting to look a "little" tired. My wife had a very pleasant spa experience and... More

Most guests arrive at this resort via ferry from Hervey Bay. We chose to drive our own 4WD from the southern part of the island drive up the eastern beach to Eurong then cross the island to the resort. An amazing drive which is well worth doing if you are a very experienced driver. When we checked in I noticed... More

Stayed here for two nights. Great resort. There are two pools, a shop is nearby and the beach is a short walk. Go to the beach at sunset. The room was large and well equipped. The A/C worked well. The room had a patio deck. The bathroom was large. The only criticism was a general lack of attention to detail... More

We've just returned from a 3 day, 2 night trip to Fraser Island staying at this hotel. Anyone who has been to Fraser or is making plans to go will know that accommodation options are limited.
