We have travelled a lot of places and never have experienced so much fun. The most unique place in the world. Loved every second. Breakfast was the best fun one day and relaxed the next. Unique unique unique. Our suite was like Cinderella and the prince with old time charm and new facilities. Clean. No not just clean , CLEAN.... More

Stayed five nights while sightseeing in the Hobart area. Tildy was very helpful with recommendations for dinner, airport shuttle and shopping. Lovely, cozy, homey feeling hotel in a great location. Short walk to harbor and Saturday market. Would highly recommend staying here.

I stayed for two nights at this wonderful Hotel at the end of a Tasmanian Safari . From the initial telephone contact with Tildy to checking out and driving to the airport my wife and I were more than satisfied . I know from travelling here there and everywhere that 'keeping a good house' is not for the fainthearted .... More

We stayed here for 2 nights based on TA reviews. The hotel is more B&B in style, very quaint, very clean and in a good location. However although wifi is available free ,it is only in the lobby. We prefer it in the rooms. We had a quite small room the first night at a reasonable rate. Tildy offered to move us... More

This will be my place to stay in Hobart from now on. It's like travelling back to the age of Miss Marple or Hercule Poirot. Tildy is amazing and made us feel very welcome. Our room was beautifully furnished, warm and comfy on a cold Hobart night. We didn't score a room with an ensuite, but don't let that deter... More

Climb up the steps swing open the doors and travel back to the 1930's. But not in an old musty way. Everything smells clean and spotless. The owner Tildey ? could be your next best friend as she welcomes you to this little gem.Wander into the lounge and read archived newspapers, play chess with your fellow guests or explore this... An interesting old private hotel in the middle of the Hobart CBD.The building has loads of character and charm, just like the owner Tildi! Our room - a queen ensuite - was sizable, clean and tidy, with a modern bathroom. Simple breakfast of cereal, toast and juice is included (if you want something more, there's a Jackman McRoss next door).... More

Did I say we loved it? This place is NOT for everybody! If you're looking for luxury accommodations, look elsewhere. But, if you're looking for a wonderful experience, are just a bit flexible and have any sense of adventure this is your place! The rooms are wonderfully cozy comfy. The building itself is charming and full of character. The location... More

Fabulous location and quaint hotel which exudes charm. Tilde runs a tight ship, which ensures the quality of both the service and the guests! The hotel is lovely and far better, in my opinion that the larger characterless hotel chains. Not to mention value. We had an ensuite room, which fronts on to the main street. If I were to... More

This hotel is indeed a rare find - old style, spotlessly clean and with plenty of character. It is centrally located, a stones throw from Salamanca place. Our room was spacious and comfortable with an en suite and off the main road so tended to be fairly quiet. There is a stairway to the first floor, so may not be... More
