We stayed for a weekend here. The 'green' rating and price appealed with this hotel. It wasn't until we arrived that we realised it was such a great location. Arriving on the skybus from the airport it is only a 2 minute walk from the station. Transport is available right at the door and walking distance to the downtown area.... More

For the price we paid I was not expecting great things, however the location is very central, rooms were clean and well stocked and the staff at the front desk were friendly. It's not 5 star, however it's very good value and I don't have a single complaint. More

Located right next to Spencer St station, this property is perfect for a footy weekend as it's a short walk from Docklands. Also on the tram lines, close to the station and not that far from anything. Reception was efficient and helpful and the property very clean and neat. The room we had was a studio queen which had some... More

Stayed 3 nights and returned later in the week for another. Loved the openable windows, ever-helpful staff and book exchange system. Free wi-fi made for fuss-free local research and online bookings. Lord knows why any hotel still thinks it's OK to charge by the hour. Not a glam hotel but it does have stylish touches here and there. Basically comfortable... More

Convient location, super friendly staff, and good free coffee. Room on the second floor was a bit quirky (basically no natural light and curbless shower which kept the whole bathroom floor wet) but clean, quiet, and super convient for working for the week in the CBD and catching the train/tram on the weekend) More

Stayed four nights. Location is pretty good, especially if, like us, you come into the city from the airport on the Skybus, which drops at the main train station less than 100m away. Staff were mainly young and very efficient. We had a Queen Studio which fitted the bill just fine. Cooking facilities were there if needed and free wireless... More

Stayed for 3 nights in April 2012 for a visit to Melbourne. The hotel is located close to the Southern Cross train station and a tram stop is virtually at the front door. We made use of the secure, outdoor hotel parking which is a quick walk from the hotel. The staff are very helpful and accommodating, especially Monika in... More

I have stayed here a couple of times for a girls weekend away. We walk just about everywhere so it is very central for us but has transport at your doorstep too. The staff were very friendly and rooms excellent. More

Stayed 3 nights at Alto and would stay again. The location was brilliant - Bourke Street tram stop right on your doorstep. We pre-booked car parking as well, which was a bonus. The parking is across the road in a private, remote control access car lot. Since it's a little walk from the hotel it can be awkward with suitcases... More

Glad they you enjoy so many of the features of Alto Hotel. For parking we reccomend guests park in the P zone outside our front door to drop off luggage and obtain parking details & remote control to acess car park. Therefore do not need to worry about how much luggage you have. We are in the planning stages of... More
