The amount they charge is rediculous. They should not be allowed to operate under australian law. When disembarking for my daily routine each morning i felt as if i should be reciting the lords prayer, as i did not know if i would make it through my shower.Light fixtures were hanging teteausly close to the splash zone of the shower head.Everything else... Yes, it's cheap, and you know why ! Feels like the building is about to crumble. Actually the 3rd floor is closed for that very reason. Didn't prevent part of the ceiling to collapse in one room while I was here. The kitchen does not make you want to cook so you tend to eat out. Never spent more in... More

We arrived in Perth at 2am and had nowhere to stay and we found this hostel just by luck walking down the street. The staff is very friendly but probably because they know what your in for. This place is literally falling apart. The showers and carpets are filthy, I would say they have not been cleaned in months maybe... More

I stayed at Grand Central simply because there was nowhere else to stay and it was honestly one of the worst experiences I have had in 11 years of backpacking. Grand Central is dirty, in urgent need of refurbishment, the atmosphere is lousy and its next to a busy and loud railway line. The only two pluses are the price... More

A total pigsty. The place is probably only one visit from the public health inspector away from being shut down. No toilet paper in any of the toilets on the second floor. Yes, pigeons frequently eat out of dirty pots left on the stove or bench in the communal kitchen. The refrigerators in the kitchen are so jammed full of... More

Three words I can say for this place - location, location, location! It's very central to everything. I saw a couple of backpackers, and although they are nicer, they a bit further away from the shops and the train station. I agree with the other reviewers, it's pretty feral, but I had a ball. It's what you choose to make... More

Currently staying here at the minute, it's not great and is rather rundown but some of the comments are a little unfair. Kitchen - absolute dump, haven't seen any rats cockroaches or pidgins like some people claim tho. T.v room - poor quality t.v and constant drunks and addicts in here. Think it does double up as a halfway house... More

Me and my partner stayed here (having not read the reviews) for a week, and deeply regretted it. It was over Easter, and most places were booked up, so we decided to stay here as we got a cheap weekly rate (around $370 for a private double room for 7 nights). As soon as we entered, we knew we were... More
