NB: This review is specifically for the tourist flats. The motel units looked new from the outside and have good reviews here. We stayed in both tourist flats - 1 couple in each - which have an adjoining kitchen. The bed linen and towels were clean, thankfully, but that is all the good feedback I have. The flats are obviously... More

Not a lot of of options in this part of the country. As you drive in the gardens are well kept and the sites are well maintained but the facilities are badly in need of updating. The kitchen was dirty and the fridge did not work. The microwave was old and in need of replacing. The shower facilities were once again... More

We chose this Park in preference to the more upmarket Hicks Bay a few kms away. We were surprised it was a litle way away from the township but had a nicely pleasant rural outlook. A bit of a walk to the windswept beach .. but that was ok ... good exercise. We chose the somewhat tired tourist flat but... More

When searching for somewhere to stay around this part of the world there doesn't seem to be a lot of options and some of the reviews of this place had left me a bit apprehensive. So with such low expectations I was pleasantly surprised by the motel unit we stayed in. It was huge with a lovely bathroom and couldn't... More

We had the pleasure of staying in one of the motel Units at Te Araroa Holiday Park. The place was amazing- very clean and everything you would need. Yes it is a way out from the town, 6 kms, but in my opinion that made it really nice. Bill the man in charge was more than helpful, a very friendly... More

First time back for 15 years.Stayed 5 nights in the tourist flats and yes it's showing it's age but good value for the cost and Bill and his team do everything they can to make the stay memorable. What a pity more people don't stay a while and enjoy what the area has to offer - plenty for all and... More

This place was ok, but a little pricey for what you got. We stayed in the 'cabins' whick were little more than bunk houses with basic cooking facilities. Our door did not close so we had wasps visiting us all day and mossies all night... Am still itchy. The beach was nice but some signs could work well. There are... More

i am amazed that this place garnered some positive reviews. it was simply terrible. the flat we stayed in was dirty, musty, noisy and horribly uncomfortable. the cooking facilities were minimal and equally dirty looking. there is no obvious beach access and the whole place looks like it should be condemned. we stayed here because it was reviewed as being superior... Outdated, smelly, unclean, broken doors, lots of spider webs.. not worth the money that was spent for one nights accommodation. these flats are not up to tourist standards. would not advise anyone to stay in the tourist flats

Arrived at the holiday park expecting something basic for the night. Lovely surprise to find a very comfortable, modern, spacious motel amongst lots of trees. We arrived at 6pm under pressure to return 6km to the village to get something to eat (everything on the East Coast closes by 6.30pm). Didn't have to because we discovered Erina's Caravan Cafe is onsite... More
