Block away from the main boulevard, large room with balcony. Stayed 2 nights and very restful. The biggest plus were the staff - very friendly and helpful. We were also allowed to leave our hire car in the car park free of charge after we checked out to go on an overnight cruise. Couldn't do enough for us.

The staff were very pleasant when we checked in. We were informed we had been upgraded to a deluxe room which was very nice to hear, and the room did seem to be slightly bigger than the standard twin (no bath however).

The hotel is just one block behind the main boulevard, hence no ocean views from your room but you don't miss that at all, it's only a 5 minute walk to get about every where. Two nights in The Bay of Islands - The Scenic hotel rooms are in blocks away from the main guest areas which initially is a bit disconserting - but once inside they are spacious, comfortable and well maintained.

Rooms were very large and had 2 double beds. Laundry facilities for guests which was very useful as we were on a 3 week tour. Breakfast and dinner were good. Great view from bedroom window onto lush vegetation. Easy walk down to Paihia to shops, eateries and ferries.

We stayed at The Scenic Hotel 3-8.1.12. We had an enormous room with two Queen Beds in it. The room was very clean, quiet, a very comfortable bed and you could park your car just outside. The room was good perhaps a refresh would help. We had good breakfast but don't get caught up with any coach tours. We found some good restaurants in Pahia town, and the beach was good. There were good walks up to falls & the Waitangi experience excellent. Boat trips can be expensive but such a beautiful area.
