NEVER EVER AGAIN......seriously this excuse for a hotel needs to be pulled down, on entering the hotel we were greeted by an angry women also staying there that informed us on how filthy the place was, we should have listened. The bathroom was disgusting with old water stains on the walls and rotten boards and mould around the edges of... More

We booked online as it was a good deal. The room was spacious and clean. Decor is old and the carpet in the corridor had rips in it which I tripped over. If this doesn't bother you then it is a good place to stay for location, (Botanic Gardens are literally across the road and you can then cut through... More

We have just returned from a visit from Wellington and we stayed at this hotel. I booked online before I saw the reviews, then read some and was quite apprehensive. I called ahead as we were arriving after midnight with two young children. This was not a problem for them. We arrived and were able to get into our room.... More

Schoolboy error!! booked online in a bit of a panic to have somewhere to stay, dismissed the feedback on the booking site as over reactive & fussy. Arrived after a long drive from Auckland & first impression (from the outside) wasn't that bad, good location across the road from the lovely Botanic Gardens. nice part of town with older quaint... Stayed here for five nights in March 2013. This hotel (which was formerly called Sharella Motor Inn) has probably last been fully refurbished in the 1980's or thereabouts and it shows. Many items (such as carpets, particularly in the corridors; paintwork; room fittings, etc.) are worn and show signs of age. However the rooms are bigger than most modern hotels... More

Took my 10 year old grandson to Wellington for a holiday. As you do, did a tour of room - disturbed to find a pornographic magazine in drawer which I handed into desk, pen on floor. Query the cleaning staff procedures. The transport to town was not working and restaurant closed - not mentioned on web page. Bit disappointing as... More

No way we will return. I don't remember a hotel worse that this in my life. We haven't expected a good hotel of course, but mold and fungus on the carpet is too much, don't you think? Additionally our booking indicated that the check-in time was 12 so we planned our day as it was at 12, but when we... More

Ok so we weren't expecting five star, but there's a limit to what patrons should be subjected to when an establishment calls itself a "Hotel". If I wanted (bad) backpacker accommodation, I would have sought it out. This place is quite frankly a health & safety risk. The wrinkly, threadbare carpet is a hazard. The lift offered no level of...
