We booked Gardens Homestay for three nights at the beginning of our trip to New Zealand. What a fantastic start to the holiday. Sally, Neil and Nina are so friendly and always made time for a nice chat over a cup of tea, about what we had been doing each day (Nina makes delicious ginger biscuits). The guest suite is... More

This really was a place that was the highlight of our trip. We instantly felt at home here and felt like Neil and Sally were more like new friends. They even invited us to Nine Lessons and Carols at the cathedral, with them. The house is beautiful, full of Rimu timber furniture and REAL plants. Am not a fan of... More

A beautifully restored Wellington house provides the perfect B&B style accommodation to easily explore the centre of Wellington. Neil, Sally and Nina are great hosts and make you feel like one of the family and a local. With such great tips and ideas on where to go and what to visit you're always well equipped to explore by foot. The... More

We went to Wellington for the weekend. And looked on tripadvisor for a BandB to stay in. Well, we were very lucky to find the Best little BandB in Wellington As this BandB has only one suite for guests you really feel very special when you stay with Neil and Sally. Late breakfast and late check out was not a... More

On a hill street, akin to San Francisco, right across from the luscious botanical gardens, and within walking distance of downtown, Gardens Homestay is a lovingly restored architectural gem. We thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated the superb home (including the thoughtful, hanging US flag for American guests), ambience, conversation, helpful hints, and food and drink provided by the warm and delightful... My wife and I were visiting family here in New Zealand feom Hawaii and found this place online so we booked to stay for almost 2 weeks. As we were greeted by and got to know Neil, Sally and Nina, we were surprised this place was even vacant. It was an AMAZING spot for us and a very balanced stay... More

We stayed at Gardens Homestay during the World Cup in September. We aren't really the B&B type, but I think that Neil, Sally and Nina converted us! Due to a flight change, we arrived much later than anticipated, and when we arrived the whole family greeted us and made us some tea without hesitation. As others have said, the room... More

We were given a lovely welcome by Neil, Sally and Nina, as well as a guided tour of their elegant house. They had even put the Union Jack out to make us feel at home. Our suite was enormous and very comfortable. We were given helpful advice to find a restaurant and felt obliged to drink the delicious glass of... More

Wellington was the third stop on our New Zealand trip, and at the Garden's Homestay I was finally able to unwind. The upstairs suite was spacious, elegant (with a balcony, tall ceilings and a fireplace!) and very private, and Sally was an engaging and helpful host. I would definitely recommend this place to others.

Our second visit to Neil, Sally and Nina's lovely home (and Rocky) and we got the same great welcome as before. This is a lovely place to stay, relaxed, comfortable and Neil and Sally are so knowledgeable about Wellington having lived here for so long. We enjoyed our first visit and were not disappointed on our second. if we go... More
