as a group we used the Shotover Lodge as a base while we cycled the new trails around Queestown. The facilities were ideal, rooms very comfortable, the kitchen was amazing as we cooked for our group both nights, plenty of room for everyone to help get the meals ready. A couple of larger pots would be good to add when... More

Thanks very much for the great review, I have just been shopping and brought some over sized pots and pans ready for the next time you come and stay with us. The Queenstown cycle trails are a great way to get to see Queenstown. We have some great packages with Queenstown Bike Tours for accommodation and bike transport and hire,... More

Stayed as a group cycling around the bike trails around Queentown. The facilities at the Shotover Lodge were ideal for our group with a comfortable lounge and great kitchen facilities. The bedrooms and everything else created a most enjoyable stay

We were a group of 11 staying at Shotover Lodge during last Easter holiday. It was not easy to find a place to accommodate such big family group. Everyone loves the lodge sets down at location that only 10-15 minutes drive from downtown Queenstown and 3 minutes drive from Shotover River, the Shotover Jet departing area. Not just that, what... We did wonder if we'd regret staying outside of town but it worked out well for us. What we saved on car parking and room rate was more money to spend on food, wine and adventures. Having free wifi was really great too and one night we stayed in and cooked a meal in the fully equipped guest kitchen. Definitely... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 nights at the Shotover Lodge. Staff were very friendly - nothing was too much trouble for Dario! Rooms comfortable and clean - beds ensured a great night's sleep! We were impressed by the capacity and provisioning of the communal kitchen complete with comfortable dinning room with fire place. We used the kitchen facilities in our... More

Shotover Lodge was an excellent surprise for my husband and I (young married couple in our mid-20s). When you think "luxury backpackers", you're not always quite sure what you're going to get, but we had a great stay! Our room was huge, with a fridge, sink, toaster, microwave, tv, couch, private balcony, and private bathroom. It wasn't state-of-the-art decor or... More

Seven of us stayed there last night. We are cycle tourists and that was the start of a trip including the Otago Rail Trail. Some caught the bus from Queenstown as we didn't know a new bike trail had opened that can take you to Arthurs Point. Anyway, my husband and I had a double room which was very comfortable... More

We stayed in a twin room for two nights in February. We arrived very late at night, but thankfully had rung ahead earlier as reception only operates between 8am and 8pm. We did have some issues finding the place as the sign is not clearly visible coming in from Arrowtown, although it does show up well from the Queenstown direction.... More

Even though there was a hindsight, location, hotel was a bit far from Queenstown city center. There was a bus service that worked well (8 NZD, return and bus stop just next to the hotel). The hotel staff were friendly and for the money the accomodation was great. Basic accomodation, but no complainments.
