Hosts Colin & Judy have done a remarkable job of transforming this historic building into a romantic getaway, without detracting from the original charm of the place. We stayed in the large loft at the rear of the convent - it is a beautiful airy space fitted with interesting and very comfortable antique furniture, and has its own kitchen and... More

Thank you for your wonderful comments, its very encouraging when your hard work is appreciated. We have been told by the sisters and former girl boarders that the Top of the Capel apartment, where you stayed, was once the room where students prepared their homework and took “Commercial” classes. We are glad you enjoyed your stay with us and hope... More

The outdoor spa and BBQ plus kitchenette with everything provided really made our stay. We didn't dine out once as the privacy, convenience and luxury of the spa was just too good to pass up. There are only two rooms with no plans to expand so if you are the only couple staying there you really do have complete run... More

Thank you for taking the time to provide a review. We are glad you enjoyed your stay with us and hope you can make the time to return again soon. We appologise for the faulty shower, we found that the water saver valve became blocked and fixed it imediately. We look forward to meeting you again. More

Recently my partner John and I found ourselves looking for last minute accommodation. We read the previous reviews here and gave Colin a call on the offchance of a vacancy. Wow what a perfect place to getaway. Colin is a wonderful host and we found the loft incredibly spacious elegant yet relaxed. We were actually expected to relax in the... More

We stayed here in May, a group of 5, attending a tennis tournament, and booked Top of the Chapel. This is a massive open-plan room on the 2nd floor, with a double bed, a double bunk (double on the bottom, single on top) and a double sofa (very comfy for the kids!). There is also a large kitchen area, with... More

We stayed here on our way back to Queensland from South Australia. The Old Convent is pet friendly, something that is always a challenge when travelling with 2 small dogs. The owners were very welcoming & quickly settled us into our accommodation. My only wish was that we'd had more time to stay & explore and to actually settle in... More

We are so pleased to have found this place. We stayed in The Top of the Chapel, the open-plan studio, and absolutely loved it. It's been renovated but the owners have stayed true to the original building and interior. The kitchen, for example, still has traditional-style cupboards, and the bathroom is also in keeping with the convent's history. The antique... More
