I ended up staying at the Comfort Resort because there was very little choice of accommodation available on this trip to Mackay. The resort is set in very nice gardens, and, at the end of the drive way is a lovely grassed area and the beach. Beautiful for walks or picnics. The resort itself is a bit old and the... More

Mackays accommodation in general is expensive so we did no expect much. This resort was disappointing only because the rooms had a distinct smell of animals which could have been due to damp or actual animals that had previously been within the apartment. This is something that would be easy to resolve with some room deodorizers and air freshener and... More

After reading the other reviews, I was terrified of what we had already booked and paid for. However, we thought it was a lovely typical North Qld resort. Yes the acommodation is outdated, but it met our needs entirely as a family of four. We stayed in a two bed with small balcony next to the pool. The beach is... More

I travel once a month and stay in lot of hotels...This is NOT 4 star. The Novotel or Holiday Inn is a 4 Star, this is lucky to be a 3 star. The rooms are dated- except new bed spread and a flat screen TV, but everything else is dated. There was no room service ( as advertised) and the... More

The location is great and the rooms have a full size fridge, washing machine and dryer however, for the price they should be cleaned daily. You even need to buy your own toilet paper. More

This resort on some web pages has it as 4 stars, but when we arrived it was scrapping to make 3 stars, very dissapointed with the management on dealing with issues concerning our room and maintenance, the restaurant was closed down and the games room was actually one tabletennis table and one pool table. Very tierd looking hotel, in need... More

After reading some of the other reviews on this hotel I wasn't expecting much from the Comfort Resort however we were very pleasently surprised. The rooms are more than sufficient being very clean and hosting a microwave, large fridge, crockery and a washing machine. Our room had a two person spa which was lovely to relax in. But the thing... "100% satisfaction guaranteed" and "courtesy bus available"- that's what they advertised, or used to, until we sent a letter of complaint about our experience staying there, then they changed their website and removed these statements. Because of the distance from Mackay we were hesitant to book but they reassured us there was a courtesy bus available between the hours of... More

This very tired resort has a magnificent location, magical gardens and a superb beachfront. The restaurant serves excellent food... The rooms... I believe the whole lot should be knocked down and they start again, very tired, very old and outdated, our room smelled of urine. We arrived late evening, on the surface all seemed okay, tired after a 14 hour... More
