My wife Lisa and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Ashton Gate Guest House. We were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary and it was the best B & B we stayed in. It was immaculate. The accommodation showed great attention to detail. After a long day we enjoyed relaxing in the sitting room infront of the fire! The cooked breakfast... More

We have once again had a wonderful night at Ashton Gate. We stay here several times a year, drawn back by the wonderful hospitality, the beautiful period furnished rooms, the friendly guests common room, and of course, BREAKFAST. While parking is on the street, it is not the main road, but a service road for the buildings along it, and... More

Stayed in cottage this time. Lovely, great breakfast and Jennifer is a lovely host. Stayed in campbell room last year with spa bath. We travelled around Tasmania for two weeks so the kitchen in the cottage was very handy.

I have been coming to launceston for the past eight years on business. Have stayed at numerous bed and breakfasts and hotels and this is the best by far. Should be ranked number 1 as have stayed at kurrajong twice and this is far superior. Great breakfadts cooked with homemade bread, unobtrusive host, able to use sitting room as board room... More

Ashton Gate would have to be one of the nicest Bed and Breakfast I've every Stayed at. Jennifer the host was extremely helping sorting a taxi for me and her local Tasmanian knowledge was extremely helpful, If fact we stayed 2 extras nights, just from her recommendations. Breakfast was cooked to perfection, just the way I liked it. Thanks Jennifer

We stayed 3 nights in Room 5, David room, which has a separate lounge area overlooking the courtyard and away from the traffic noise. The bed and rooms were comfortable and everything was clean. The breakfasts were copious with lots of choice. The rooms are tastefully decorated with large fireplaces but beware of the mantelpieces that stick out so are... More

Gorgeous house - so much victoriana you saw something different everytime you looked. Spotlessly clean (must require an awful lot of dusting). Beautiful bone china tea cups and plates in the rooms, and the set in the dining room dresser is amazing. Jennifer was very helpful - she opened the dining room early for us (6.00am!) for breakfast as our... More

Our first B&B on our first visit to Tasmania and we thought if all our bookings are as good as this we would be really pleased. The bed was just so..o comfortable and really large. Our room was very tastefully decorated as was the rest of the house. Ashton Gate is centrally situated and there is plenty of space for... More

The two nights we stayed at Ashton Gate were delightful. All of the rooms were lovely. Ours had a very large marble bath with towel warmers! The tea and cookies in the parlor were a welcome treat and the staff, including owner Jen, were all very welcoming and attentive to our needs. We were even served breakfast a bit early... More

Large room and comfortable bed but shower room could be bigger. Breakfast outstanding and cooked to order with home made bread and jam etc. Guest lounge with complementary port and cake. Jennifer very professional and TV remote batteries immediately replaced when advised they had failed. Eating suggestions very helpful. Stayed on 22 and 28 Oct and wished we could stay... More
