Our hotel was full (33 rooms) this night as Crusaders Game was in Greymouth. These people were in Rm 27 (nowhere near the road) so unsure why they said there was road noise. The room has a brand new bed and new carpet. They never came down to see Management when they checked in late afternoon - if the room... More

Hotel was very cheap, cheapest in our trip. Regarding to price it is ok, so our disappointment is maybe influenced, because we took so cheap hotel. If you want cheap hotel and do not expect much, then it is probably ok. It was well located for catching train and restaurants were in a walking distance. More

Stayed for one night with two children under 5 years old. The accommodation is above the pub and is right in the centre of town. Very average and only one to use a place to stay for a night as you go up the west coast. Room was very dated but reasonably clean and shower was good. Communal areas were... More

The hotel is supposed to be a historical location in NZ terms, but this really means it is old and in much need of some modernisation. The staff at reception are pretty straightforward but do not expect any frills, chitchat or help with your bags. At times, the place seemed eerily devoid of anyone who seemed to be working there.... This is the second time we have stayed here. We came back because it is good comfortable old fashioned accommodation. And really important for us it is within our budget constraints Sure the rooms are a bit dated, but our room was spacious, clean with very comfortable beds, tv, good heater, elect blanket and clean bathroom with good water pressure... We chose this hotel for 2 reasons: location and p[rice. As we were staying 2 nights in Greymouth, the savings over a B & B or another "good location" hotel pretty much paid for our car rental. It was false economy. The beds were terrible. While the bathroom was as clean as it could possibly be, the years of accumulated... More

We managed to squeeze into this hotel only because someone else had canceled! We intended to drive further to Hokitika, but every place we called was booked solid and we were advised to try and stay in Greymouth. So we were relieved to find Revingtons! The street where the hotel is located was pretty deserted in the evening, so we... More

We arrived into Greymouth without reservations. Once in town we found the local i-SITE (New Zealand tourist info centers-we used often and they were great for lodging and info). Because we were turning in the rental car and taking a train to Christchurch the next day being close to train station was important. The i-SITE staff recommended the Revington. Yes,... More

We spent one night here in March 2005 (on St. Patrick's Day). Cost for a double room with ensuite was $75 including GST. We found the hotel through both Lonely Planet and the Automobile Association guide. The room itself was simple but fine -- clean, above all. Furnishings were dated, but all functioned. There was a hot water kettle with... More
