What a gem of a location, this historic lodge is in great condition and has so much history. We loved Pen y bryn and our fantastic hosts James & James. They were warm, welcoming and have a uniquely beautiful home and gardens. We had appetizers and a wonderful dinner which James the owner and chef prepared. I wish we could have stayed more then one night as the Moeraki/Oamaru area has great wildlife and plenty to do. More

I am currently residing in the Pen-y-Bryn hotel in Oamaru and would highly recommend it. The cuisine is exquisite and the owners/hosts are very attentive and put themselves out to ensure that  all guests have a relaxing and joy able experience.
