This place was a TOTAL nightmare, The girls on the front desk didn't know a thing, I requested to see the room before i paid anymore money: smelly unclean rooms -not ventilated at all, dirty and stained carpets, dark and dreary, the hotel door had been trashed, one word sums this up- MINGING- DONT STAY THERE!! The upgrade was no... More

After selecting this "resort" from the internet, we arrived and was pretty surprised at the general run down appearance. However, we were on holidays and felt that it had a great location as we didn't intend to hire a car and would be out most days anyway. Sorry, I know its vain, but the it was supposed to be supplied... More

The good thing about this campsite is its location, near to the lagoon and restaurants, post shop and supermarket. The bad things are countless. First, don't be mistaken : this Whitsunday wnaderers Resort sometimes take the name of the Kaola Resort, same owner, jsut next to it but better value (it is a backpacker though) The staff at the counter... we stayed here a while ago and it was terrible. the rooms are filthy and the door has a 1 inch gap under it to ensure you don't sleep alone. we were upgraded to a spa room however i wouldn't wash a dog in the spa in our room. it was very cheap but very dirty, be warned you get... More

Filthy dirty, a health hazard I cannot understand why the Australian authorities have not shut this place down, this does nothing to promote Australian tourism. This place is worse than the worst backpacker places, but certainly is not back packer prices. Prior for leaving for Airlie Beach I booked my dog into better and far cleaner accomodation Who ever owns... More

We have now returned from our visit to Australia. The Wanderers Resort was the worst accommodation in Airlie beach, it looked and was terrible value for money. We arrived at prox 8pm, the doors were locked and some staff were still in the office but ignored us. A note on the door said for late check-in go to Morrocs's Bar.... More

I stayed in the honeymoon suite with my boyfiend. My first impression was how spacious it was. I've stayed in quite a few hotels and noticed this difference. I also thought the price wasn't bad at all for what you get (comparative to other places I've stayed) but assumed on both points, it is due to the location (Airlie Beach)... More

We stayed at a number of places in Airlie Beach and this was by far the worst. Although there were no obvious signs of anything untoward, the whole property seemed rather tired and in need of a bit of TLC. We found that the prices asked at Whitsunday Wanderers were NOT good value in comparison to other motels in the... More

WE DID NOT EVEN STAY ONE NIGHT. Even when we could not afford much in our early days in Australia we would not have slept in a room this bad. 23yrs later we definitely still won't. We tried without success to get our money back and are now trying to recoup from Blue Holidays who apparently don't inspect the accommodation... More
