Stayed at Cod Rock terrace with another couple while travelling around Tasmania. Location was excellent with the stunning oceanfront right at the back door. Plenty of penguin noise after dark but sadly didnt see any on the one night we were there. Accommodation is adequately equipped, clean and comfortable but maybe better suited to families rather than two couples as... More

We were intending to stay at Freycinet but balked at the prices asked at the 'lodge' and some reviews say there's nothing much there to warrant those prices. There are limited options at Coles bay so I looked at Bicheno, 3/4 of an hour north. Anchlia cottages looked appealing because there are only 2 lots on the property, one being... More

My husband and I stayed in the one bedroom Penguin Nook for one night on a lightning fast tour around Tasmania. Bicheno is a lovely little place and Anchlia Waterfront Cottage is in a gorgeous location just out of town at the end of a culdesac right on the beach. We were delighted to see two young furry penguins in... More

We stayed for one night in the single bedroom Penguin Nook. It was clean, spacious and comfortable, except for the bed which was very hard. The location is excellent, just a short stroll through the back yard and over the rocks to the ocean. Penguins were viewed in the yard at night. Quite exciting for us as we had never... More

Thanks to Anchilia for a wonderful stay in a lovely location. Being a family of five single adults travelling, the amenities across both Penguin Nook and Cod Terrace were ideal for us. The location is stunning being right on the waterfront, and the hospitality was very warm. Great advice for what to see in the local area. Thanks again

Found on trip advisor as we drove into Bicheno, stayed 1 night in their Cod Rock Terrace with water and garden views from all windows/doors. Quiet, clean, fairly well equipped, good location and walking distance to the little town. Gorgeous from outside, cute from inside and very satisfactory compared to our usual 4 star accommodation. Finally we had a chance... More

Found Anchlia 2 years ago by chance and loved it so much we returned. Both visits we stayed in Penguins Nest, the one bedroom accommodation. Car parking at front door and it has a large dining, living and kitchen area, separate bedroom with a double and one single bed and a separate comfortable bathroom with shower over a small tub.... Four years ago on a trip around Tasmania we arrived in Bicheno late one afternoon to find all the motels booked out. We were offered the Cod Rock Cottage and were amazed when we arrived to check in. What a lovely place - a truly lovely cottage, with a beautiful garden and the ocean breaking over a rocky foreshore barely... More

Yes there are penguins, the location is fabulous! Neat 2 storey cabin/cottage at the waters edge. Penguins return each day from fishing in the ocean and walk across the property to their beds in the cottages' gardens. Very exciting to see those little fairy penguins in the wild. Don't be surprised at 4 am when they all wake up and... More
