I have visited Deloraine many times through the years and when I booked to stay at the Empire Hotel I was well aware that it was a grand-looking old hotel with facilities that were no longer up to modern expectations, but I was shocked to find how far below my expectations. The room was modestly priced but the price was... More

The Restaurant has now been re-focussed with new, young Chefs. They source locally the best Tasmanian produce and have reviewed the menu. No more Thai food! I had salt and pepper calamari for lunch and it is outstanding: lightly crumbed and some light herbs and gently and quickly cooked. My two companions both had a grilled fillet of snapper and... More

We recently visited Deloraine and took the opportunity to have an evening meal at the Empire Hotel. The staff were friendly and the décor was wonderful - a warm cosy fire in the main bar area created a welcoming atmosphere. The owner/manager goes out of his way to speak with all the customers to ensure their experience is enjoyable. The... More

We arrived on a cold evening, we had booked in advance giving an ETA .The rooms were freezing, no heater on to welcome us. There was nowhere to hang clothes other than a few coat hangers behind the door. The room was themed Japanese but had 2 large Edwardian type chairs! The bed was comfortable, the room was clean. The... More

I have to say, I only booked into the Thai suite here because I was totally fascinated with a very authentic thai suite in the middle of a regional Tasmanian town. Its fair to say I barely looked at the other amenities, or though through my actions, and I was also somewhat excited about the thai restaurant downstairs, which was... More

I have never eaten in at the Empire Hotel, only gotten take-away, but have always been most impressed with my meals. There is plenty to choose from, the prices are reasonable and the food is always prepared quickly. Yum!

Visited Saturday night just gone,I had a green curry, partner had a seafood combination stirfry. We both really enjoyed our meals. Have eaten there previously and meals have always been good. Didn't stay in the accommodation this time, but have previously stayed in the Thai themed room. There is also a Japanese themed room. They are lovely rooms unfortunately no... More

In recent times, we travelled extensively throughout W.A, N.T, Tasmania and our home State of Queensland. We like dining out. A lot. My partner is a self confessed 'foodie' and I like very rare (blue) steak. Throughout our travels we dined out an estimated three times weekly. Over the last twelve months, this makes for approximately 150 dining experiences. I... More
