I only stayed one night at this hostel but I could have stayed longer. It was so lovely, cosy and comfortable, more like staying in a friend's house and less like staying in a hostel. The hostess was tremendous as well. She offered breakfast in the morning that included homemade bread and jam. Overall, the hostel was a great place... More

This was undoubtedly the cosiest hostel I've ever stayed in! No bunk beds & a very homely feel made for an extremely pleasant stay. The little hand-knit booties left on each of our beds, and the option of home-made bread for breakfast were a lovely touch! Would highly recommend this gem to anybody looking to stop off at Picton:) More

Loved this cosy hostel (had an open fire) - Great atmosphere and Nicky was so helpful and friendly. Didn't feel like a hostel at all, had a lot of character and personality. Very near to town centre. Would definitely come back here again. More

Just returned to North Island from a trip around South Island and discovered this restful place in Picton. As retired travellers we had decided to make our fund go further to stay in backacker accommodation and by and large this worked well, but the accommodation on offer was varied to say the least. However the Jugglers Rest was undoubtedly one... More

Jugglers rest is great. It is beautiful, homey and really down to earth. The owner lives on site next door and is a really interesting person. The place is clean and comfortable and feels more like a B&B than backpackers. More

Would happily stay here again. We were in one of the double cabins - simple but cosy. Very friendly people and great kitchen. And the garden! Thanks for the hospitality. More

Amazing hostel in every way. Its more like staying at a friends home than staying at a hostel. I've stayed three times now and will hopefully be back for one last time before I leave New Zealand! I wish there were a lot more hostels like this. Amazing owners, clean, homely, relaxing, great value, vege garden and lots of circus... More

After travelling the South Island sleeping in my van at camping grounds, this was a great end and final rest as my trip came to a close. Friendly staff, many options for sleep for different budgets, nice old villa done up as a hostel with plenty of space, bathrooms, garden and kitchen utilities to use. This was pleasant and I... More

This is a fantastic place to chill out. It's the kind of hostel you stay at to enjoy the hostel. You can learn to juggle, use fresh herbs from the garden and enjoy a nice evening by the fire or on the porch where if you're lucky there may be an impromptu circus performance or some guitars and singing. Cool... More

We stayed here only one night but the place felt friendly and easy going. Toilet and shower were clean and so was the small kitchen (although it was quite full of people making their dinners all the time). Our room was really nice and also very quiet. There were free plums in the kitchen table and you could also buy... More
