I choose hotels on a bunch of criteria. Price, location, amenities and wifi. As I travel mainly on business there are things that are important not just the room. This hotel is an older hotel that has very nice and well appointed rooms. It is in a great location with good views from the upper floors. The rooms are large... More

I arrived at 10 45 in the morning and tried to check in. The rude desk clerk told me that you can only check in at 4pm or pay 50 dollars to check in early. Never in my life have I been told that I need to pay to check in early. Not the best neighborhood either. I would not... More

This hotel is located in a creepy part of Washington DC. There is a boarded up school and low-income housing within two blocks. The only close "restaurant" is a McDonald's across the busy highway. My room was booked for me and it is NOT a place for a female traveling alone. I did not leave the hotel after dark during... More

On one side it's a marginal neighborhood and on the other up and coming. The property is in need of updating, but isn't bad it just seems to have been getting by. Now with the ballpark down the street and the new condos/apartments going up I hope the owners get on board. My room was good, but was closer to... More

Poor service, old and badly appointed rooms, no open restaurant in the evenings and right next to a highway (so you hear police sirens all night). Absolutely atrocious. And for a young, lone female traveller the location was a lot less than ideal, despite the fact my travel agent recommended it - when I met a DC- based friend, I... More

For the price close to the National Mall, it is a good value. The lobby was clearly just updated. The beds are soft and comfortable. The location is good. We were able to walk from Air and Space with 3 kids in about 15 minutes. Only about 10 minutes from the Navy train station and the Nationals stadium. The free... More

First, let me say that this is a good value - basically clean and comfortable and a ten minute walk to the Capitol or Navy Yard or Waterfront metro stations. Now for the bad stuff: They claim to have free shuttle service in the mornings and evenings, but half the time these were very late or no-shows. From May through... More

I stayed here for one night and noticed that the hotel's soundproofing is limited - major traffic starts at 5am. Decoration and furnishings are somewhat dated, reflecting why the Capitol Skyline is cheaper than other nearby hotels. Other than that, the hotel is functional, and all of the staff were very helpful and efficient. More

Our European vacation was cut short, a relative contacted Capital Skyline and a room was acquired at the last minute for us. The manager went above and beyond to accomodate us and the staff was efficient and very friendly. Our 9th floor room had a nice view of the Capital. The Mall is only a ten minute walk however a...
