Our fourth visit -- This hotel sets the standard in Washington for the very finest service – it compares favorably with the best in New York, and with exceptional European hotels as well. The Lafayette Restaurant is exceptional in every way (food, service, wine list, and atmosphere). We very much enjoyed the Junior Suite – spacious and immaculately clean, and...

Last Spring I visited Washington DC for the first time since I was 3 years old. We came to town to see Follies at the Kennedy Center, but the trip ended up being much more than that.
The location right by the White House just made the DC experience. It was the first thing I saw every day. Upon check...

We recently stayed at the Hay Adams to celebrate my husband's 75th birthday and had a wonderful stay. Our room was upgraded when they learned it was my husband's birthday and they also gave him a birthday cake. The service was perfect and the room was beautiful with a view. The only disappointing thing was the refreshment center sensors. By...

Easter weekend in lovely hotel; saw the Obamas going in/out of St John's across the street from our window.
Fun bar in basement. Lobby restaurant lovely. Sunday brunch roof-top was "ok" but I hate buffets and it was too $$$$.

I just visited the Hay Adams since their amazing renovation of the top floor. The banquet rooms afford the most amazing view of the Mall. The staff was exemplary in attentiveness and grace, and the food excellent in taste, freshness and presentation. While the Hay Adams is world renown to DC visitors, Washingtonians would be wise to consider it for...

This hotel would have gotten a full 5 from me if it wasn't for the experience I had at the end. We went to the Hay-Adams to celebrate a big birthday for my husband, so we wanted to "do it up" a little. I booked a room for $349/night. The hotel did not disappoint. It was beautiful and spotlessly clean,...

Visiting Washington DC with my 17 year old son, I wondered where to stay, I chose here and the hotel has spoilt me (us) for the future. It was wonderful. From opening the doors and walking in, to the delightful and extremely comfortable room, to the superb restaurant, to the brilliant staff, I can't possibly find fault. As everyone else...

August, very hot... I go out for a run, come back covered in sweat. I was embarassed to go through the front door. When they see me coming they rush inside and come back out to greet me with a fresh towel and a bottle of cold water.
The hotel is impecable, the staff couldn't be better, the breakfast 10/10...

Took a short trip to Washington DC for 17yr old son's Spring Break. Arrived Easter Sunday evening and checked into our 1 bedroom suite overlooking St Johns Church, the "Presidents Church". Check in was easy taken care of by the multinational Front Desk personal. The location cannot be surpassed as it is right across the street from Lafayette Square which...
