This hotel obviously has a history, it feels like someone's dream. A unique layout of two nested rectangles of rooms around a central covered courtyard. As such the inner rectangle rooms look out into the public courtyard (perhaps lacking some privacy?) and the outer ones have external windows. There is a sauna off the central courtyard, a games area and... More

Our family stayed here for two nights recently to have a fun "home base" while enjoying the local sights. Our room was on the first floor with a sliding door to the indoor courtyard, which delighted our sons (4&6), who took advantage of the ping-pong table at every opportunity. They also really enjoyed the waterpark, which was a great size... More

My family and I planned on staying at Inn of the Rio Grande for a few nights- in order to see the Colorado Gators, and the Sand Dunes.(I actually just checked out of my hotel yesterday.) The hotel impressed me and my kids, with the great indoor pool, with the hugest water slide I have ever seen! My hotel room... More

I have stayed at this property on several occassions over the last couple of months. I was impressed, the first time by the exterior rennovations of what appeared to be an older hotel. While the hotel is a little older than some options in the market, the rooms are all under rennovation with new HDTV's, new bathrooms and other work... More

We stop at this friendly hotel each year on our way from Albuquerque to skiing in Colorado. The people are friendly and the hotel, while certainly not new, is well-maintained, clean, and comfortable. The restaurant serves a variety of good food and the hotel (at least in winter) often gives guests discount coupons for the restaurant. It's only a block... More

I stayed at this hotel for 2 different nights on a band trip. Overall, I was pretty satisfied it. Due to the layout of the hotel, my room did not have any windows leading outdoors, but did have a sliding-glass door leading into the indoor courtyard which simulated the outdoors pretty well. The indoor water park was nice, however, the... More

We were traveling north into colorado and got trapped by a snow storm. We found the inn of the rio grande on tripadvisor. The Inn has everything including an indoor water park. The kids were sliding down a giant water slide while the snow was falling outside like crazy. There is bar for the adults. A restaraunt with good food... More

We were pleasantly surprised to find the inn was better than expected. It was a little worn around the edges, but was a great place to take the grandchildren. The water park was excellent and it was nice to have a restaurant on-site so we didn't have to travel out to eat. The children enjoyed the games, also. The rooms... More

Went with 4 other couples for golf and Alamosa-La Veta train ride and concert. Inn was clean with large rooms. The staff accommodated our request to use their spacious lobby area for our cocktail hour. Our room may have been a smoking room at one time--faint odor of smoke. I'd stay there again. More

Unusual lobby, restaurant was truly an unexpected delight! Best chicken fried steak (freshly made not frozen) that I've ever had! Cold salad just like it's supposed to be and the service was second to none! More
