Amazing place! We wanted a "different" kind of vacation and got that and more at the CTL. From the staff to the tours everything was great. Food was fresh and home-made. Tours were fun and a great learning experience. Our cabana was comfy and had a very cool rustic feel to it. Beautiful surroundings that make you feel like you... More

We had an wonderful time at the Cotton Tree Lodge! It’s a trip we’ll never forget. The jungle is beautiful. It was interesting learning about the local Mayan way of life. The adventures are fun. The people are hospitable. And the lodge itself is great. As someone else put it “fantastic for anyone slightly adventurous” The food was really good.... More

The title of this review is absolutely not an exaggeration: I just got back about two weeks ago, and I just can't stop thinking about how incredibly lucky I was to have a week at the Cotton Tree Lodge. To have lived next to the gorgeous Moho River for a week, able to watch the azure water flow, the fish... More

I recently returned from the Taza Chocolate Week program. The Taza team was great. The group was great. The activities were varied, educational and fun. The jungle was all it was expected to be - up close and personal with all sorts of flora and fauna. You need to accept that all your senses are on high alert - it... More

We are happy to hear that this guest enjoyed the Taza Chocolate Week program. Every year we have a great time hosting all the three of the chocolate weeks offered here at the lodge. We appreciate this guest’s feedback and are taking steps to address some of her points about the cabanas. Regarding the food choices at the lodge, we... More

I'm actually writing this from the porch of our Cotton Tree cabana. Our experience has been fantastic so far. We have 1 day remaining of a 4 day stay. If you get bored here, you are an idiot. So much to do, either by yourself (you can swim, kayak, horseback ride, hike, drink) or with a guide (their free daily... More

My husband and I ended a wonderful trip to belize with the cotton tree lodge. We spent 3 nights and 3.5 days at the lodge. We stayed in the honeymoon cabana. We were welcomed with 2 rum punch coolers and the bellman dropped our luggage directly in our room. We had a buffet dinner the first night. It is served... More

Just got back from a visit to Cotton Tree, with my family (6 of us, including three girls 16, 14, 8, and a boy aged 6). As reflected in other reviews, the place is awesome (counted 20 family revies, 18 of which were 5-star and 2 were 4-star). Not sure I can add more. Everyone in our family was treated... More

This is a beautiful resort made up of less than 10 thatched roof cabanas connected by a fun raised wood boardwalk. The room was clean and completely enclosed by mosquito nets which, FYI, does not mean it is bug free (but what can you do? you are in a hut in the jungle!). The bathrooms were spacious, clean with lots... More

I'm very happy this guest enjoyed her stay and wanted to address her comment on arranging transportation to town. In fact, we are happy to arrange transportation to town for our guests but are not always in a position to provide private transportation for individual guests. I believe there may have been some miscommunication as we can easily call for... More

This is not your typical vacation! The rooms are cool jungle huts. The food is all prepared for you and meals ate typically eaten with the other guests. Excursions are ok. The grounds are beautiful. More

My wife and I just returned from a 4-day "Babymoon" at CTL during the end of January/beginning of February. We had an amazing time. I've really never been on a trip like this. It's not a resort in the traditional sense and it isn't camping either, so I guess it should be in its own category of adventure lodging. I... More
