I was only there for the day, for meetings but was extremely impressed. This hotel has survived and flourished despite all the odds among the very serious troubles of Burundi. The rooms are extremely large, airy and cool, with each room's door opening onto an external walkway. The bedroom furniture is a little heavy and dark, but it all feels... More

I only stayed here three nights, and wish I could have stayed longer. The room was spacious, spotlessly clean, and very comfortable, with a lovely view over the beach. The air conditioning unit worked very well. I did not get to swim, but the pool was lovely, especially at night. There are plenty of places to sit and work, or... More

This hotel is close to the airport and right on the water on the huge lake that Bujumbura sits on. But the hotel is like many other that line the water. They are a bit far from the town (3-4 miles) and you will need a taxi to get to and from the city. Not expensive, but you have to... More

The bed and pillows are slightly better than other East African hotels, but still not 4-stars. Spacious rooms, nice views, plentiful hot water (but isn't really hot), good power supply. The bathroom functional but well-worn. Unfortunately the room lacks a kettle for tea. The interior grounds are well-kept with lots of interesting birds and frogs, but the beach side has... More

A short but very nice stay at Club du Lac. Great service, clean room, great location on a beautiful beach. It's a bit out of town and at night this might give an unsafe feeling to get there. The price is a bit steep and you may get the same quality cheaper in town but then, you won't have the... More

This is a resort-styled property in a beautiful location at the northern tip of Lake Tanganyika, on the edge of Bujumbura, with extensive grounds and numerous thatch-roofed areas to sit, read, have a drink or a meal, or just enjoy the view. The border of Dem. Rep. of Congo is not far, which sometimes causes security issues as other reviewers... More

Room was not clean, garbage on the beach, insufficient staff for the pool restaurant. Safe was broken. Bathroom porcelain chipped. The lake was beautiful.....but I would look for another option if I returned to the area More

We stayed over night while visiting Bujumbura Golf Course. The hotel is about 5 minutes from the city, but its doesnt matter. Hotel Shuttle takes You where ever you want. I visited barber shop and they helped me to find the place. Absolutely amazing beach but be careful early morning, you can meet some hippos... More

This is without doubt the nicest place overall to stay in Bujumbura. It is slightly overpriced in my opinion, but it can't be easy running such an establishment in a landlocked country experiencing ongoing civil strife. The location for this hotel is excellent: just outside of Buj, near UN barracks for safety (of concern every so often) and right on... More

Many do perhaps not expect white beaches and "sea view" when you go to a landlocked country in the middle of Africa, but Club du Lac has both. Rooms are nice and charming, quite big, comfortable bed and nice bath rooms. Can be a little bit noisy in the weekends if they have live music, but it usually doesn't last... More
