Abuja is a much more relaxed city than Lagos. The Transcorp Hilton is trading on its past reputation however. As with most hotels in Nigeria very expensive. The rooms vary in quality and state of repair. First time here the internet connection was poor and room was shabby. This improved a little with my second stay. Has a good selection... More

I liked Abuja, a welcome break to the chaos of Lagos and as a westerner the Hilton is a "default" hotel and for good reason. Don't stay here unless you are on expenses - wow!! I upgraded to the 10th floor with buffet food and drink all available in the exec lounge for Nira 15k / night extra which is... More

This is perhaps the best hotel in Abuja Nigeria. Loved the blend of local and international feel. Large clean rooms and very responsive help desk. The check in and check out is little bit slow but acceptable. I will be staying here again soon. More

My first business trip to Nigeria and hopefully my last. The security at this hotel is a complete farce even with the apparent threat of terrorism. I went for a quiet drink in the bar and was approached by prostitutes asking me for business. I have never felt so unsafe and threatened in my life. The bar staff's response when... More

Prices for everything are set to take a minimum fee per mealtime regardless. It is impossible to eat anything (even a bowl of soup) anywhere in the hotel for less than 3000 Naira ($20). Quality is really quite poor. Eat for half the price and immeasurably better quality at Wakki's or Al Basha restaurants outside. Except that you will need... More

I stayed in the presidential suite, 8th floor. it has an executive dining room with food more local and to western tastes inferior to the restaurants downstairs. The suite is about 4500 sq feet with a main bedroom and 3 for staff plus a state dining room. Veranda's were locked. Kitchen was small for staff only perhaps. Service was superior... More

In general all hotels in Nigeria are overpriced and provide a low value. Nigerians themselves are fed up with this exploitation. Giving this background I think Transcorp Hilton whilst also overpriced as the rest, but– it is at least consistent and there are improvements. I have been staying here on and off since 2003 and as I have seen Nigeria... More

Ok, the positives: - the room was nice (King room), bed comfortable, AC great, exectuve lounge wonderful, pool refreshing and gym top-notch. I am a Gold Hilton Member and was overall impressed with the facilities here, given the location. Is it a London or NY Hilton - no - but we are in Abuja. And Abuja is not London or... More

It is a big hotel with most of the amenities and services that you would expect in a large busines hotel. There are several restaurants which is also convenient if you are too tired to go out (although I visited their Asian restaurant, and was put off by the smell of old oil, bad news). If you want to feel... More

The stay in the Transcorp Hilton in Abuja was in general very satisfactory with one notable exception: the live music in the Piano Lounge. The female singer or should I say the woman producing sound was the worst singer I have ever seen in any bar or restaurant. It cut my visits to this otherwise very nice lounge short on... More
