I stayed at Red Chilli for three nights in one of their double rooms with shared bathroom. First of all, what a great deal! The bed was super comfortable and the room had a table and chairs and a wardrobe. I was right next to the bathrooms, which were always kept very clean and tidy. The grounds are quite nice... More

I take a team to Red Chilli every year. We spent 10 nights there whilst working in and around Kampala. It is the perfect western??? oasis in the centre of Africa. My teams always remark on the feel of RC. The accommodation is dated and basic but the bar and general ethos by far make up for the inconveniences. We... More

Planned on staying here for 2 nights, and ended being here for 4 due to visa niggle. Nice communal areas. The staff are a good fun bunch, keen to point you in the right direction. Was good to meet other travellers, after being solo in less touristy spots. Food is reasonably priced and good quality. Internet was pretty slow, although... More

I stayed here for 2 nights in a double room. The hostel is ok but a bit run down, could do with a bit of a revamp with the many people coming through. I can see it as a good starting place if you are travelling or want to do some reasonably priced tours. It was a bit pricey for... More

Dear wwglobetrotting Thanks a lot for taking the time to review Red Chilli. We are so glad you enjoyed the food, especially the barbecue. We agree that the place needs a bit of a re-vamp, which is why we are re-building the whole of Red Chilli on a brand new purpose built site, which should be open by the end... More

After a bit of stress we found the place by minibus taxi. The map on the website is wrong: you should get off at the Gaz petrol station, not the Shell (which is actually on the right as you come from town). We were warmly welcomed and shown to our quite large double room with shared bathroom. There was a... More

Dear Alby S Many thanks for the review - I am so glad you appreciated the atmosphere and food at Red Chilli but am sorry the adjacent bathroom to your room was a little noisy! If there is a next time, I would suggest requesting a room further away from the bathrooms (we usually find people want to be as... More

Found the staff to be very friendly and helpful, the rooms to be clean and basic but very acceptable and the price for a double room to be pretty decent. Breakfast is somewhat pricey and may take some time to arrive, but is pretty good. All the fruit in the breakfasts is picked fresh on the day from the grounds... More

Decent location in Kampala (not that you need a great location because there are bodas everywhere), decent food, and the most comfortable / clean dorms I saw in Uganda. Not a bad place overall. Internet is slow, you need to bring your own lock if you want to store valuables & are staying in a dorm, and it's a bit... More

The staff at this place is the worst. Starting at check-in when the man at the bar/reception was dismissive and rude, and ending with the check-out process, when the credit card machine was broken and the staff was unwilling to work with us to accept Kenyan shillings (at a much higher than market rate) making us late for the airport.... Dear Yevie 115 Many thanks for taking the time to review Red Chilli. We have already spoken to the member of reception staff you... More

I stayed here for one night and thoroughly enjoyed it. The cottages were spacious and comfortable, perfect for 4 friends stayed together. The barbeque for dinner was great and in particular the bar was lively and had a pool tablw along with sports coverage and internet, the latter quite a rarity in the other places that I've stayed in during...
