We’ve just concluded a short stay at the Sapphire hotel and all I can say it’s one of the best out of town hotels in Uganda. Great clean, spacious rooms, hot showers, kind helpful staff, great food and a generally quiet atmosphere to relax and unwind. I’ll recommend this place to friends and will definitely be back.

A hotel is quite nice but........ when the boss, the owner come -all the stuff is engaged serving him-not you as a guest!!! So you will wait for a soup 45 min,and for the main dish an hour and more!!!! If you smoke outdoor the boss will send somebody to tell you that HE dont like the smell (20 metars away),if you order a drink you will wait a nd finaly you will not get it-until THE BOSS is arround.A torture.

The access road to the hotel is a total mess.....vehicles stuck in mud etc...had to make a long detour. The location of the hotel is very inconvenient. Hotel itself is nice. Great rooms...huge, clean. Very kind staff. The restaurant is great. The chef Mr. Nsabira Jude is superb. I enjoyed the grilled fish from Lake victoria, Lentil soup and rice and vegetables. The rooms on the Bar? restaurant side are VERY noisy. I moved to a quieter room. All kind of new.

Stayed five nights at the Sapphire. The staff are EXCELLENT. I was well cared for and they worked hard to keep the hotel clean. The room was comfortable - hot water, fan, and mosquito netting made it all comfortable. Negatives: There is a chicken farm across the street, so the smell on one side can be a bit strong. In this more remote area, pests are a bit more prevalent (cockroaches, flies, etc). Wifi was only available in the lobby. Overall, given its location, this was a comfortable place to stay.

This is a lovely hotel, mostly the only noise is from monkeys and birds in the greenery around the hotel, the views are nice and the staff is nicer. The reception and bar / restaurant staff are exceptional, and very friendly and professional. On the downside, the WiFi does not extend throughout the hotel, and although the cooking is very good on average it can occasional vary depending on who is cooking! Mostly the food is very good though, and I am fairly picky about food. The location is halfway between Entebbe airport and Kampala, and you will need to arrange transport to go anywhere. As with everything else, the staff are happy to help with this too. Overall I would definitely recommend the Sapphire, we have been here for 2 months so far and fully intend to stay for the rest of our Uganda trip. It's a 4 star hotel for less than the cost of a blackpool b&b! …

I stayed in Sapphire hotel twice, during Christmas and New Years. I saw a rat at least twice. I went home, came back to Uganda and expected the rats problems to be solved. My friends and I were having dinner and having drinks then a rat shows up. The nice lady that works in the bar tried to get the rat without telling us, she called the security guard. My friend took a video of them trying to get the rat but the rat escape. Later the rat came to the bar more than five times. My concern is health, diseases how do you know the rat is not touching food or where they prefer food. I suggest any Western person to becareful about staying in this hotel before they get a disease that will kill you. My husband and I spoke to the manager (David) and he said is not a problem the rats have been around for a long time in the hotel. Do not stay in this hotel and get sick because of rats touching food !!…

Checked in at this hotel for lunch and a coffee. What i saw, was really fantastic. The reception, dining plus food was all great. I asked to have a look at their rooms and all were incredibly clean and spacious from single to double rooms. Prices were the most friendly. I would recommend any one looking for an affordable hotel with luxury standards to try sapphire hotel.

Off a dusty road lies this well organised, airconditioned, neat and Clean hotell with a very proffessional work team and glorious meals that came with in no time at anytime of the day. Very quiet in rooms when all closed and birds singing when u oppened the windows. Net in windows to keep out bugs.

I took a ride looking for a serene place I could rest for a weekend and discovered Sapphire hotel off Entebbe road near Kigo. I was in for a great suprise.I was given a treat you would expect to have in a five star hotel. Sapphire hotel is a class of its own. The kind of reception you receive makes you feel pampered. The service is second to none. The bar music does not allow you to leave. In short, it's the place to be. Ken Robinson
