We were very disappointed with our booking here, We had booked a garden facing room and got a view of back streets. We had to walk outside in the rain to get to this room as well. They finally moved us, the next day to a garden view room after we continued to complain. Both rooms were clean and the... More

I recently stayed in the Kathmandu Guest House for a long weekend with some friends. The accommodation and service far exceeded our expectations. We stayed in the new section of the hotel which was lovely. We visited temples and did a small hike just outside the city (organized by the agent in the hotel). The Kathmandu Guest House is a... I have stayed at the Kathmandu Guest House several times, and it really just gets better each time. The biggest reason for the stay getting better is the staff and service. I stayed there in 2007, and when I returned in the fall of 2011, all of the staff, even the housekeepers and shopkeepers recognized and welcomed me. It was... More

Stayed hear both before and after our trek. We did stay in the delux room of the new wing so was very satisfied with everything. Beds comfy, bathroom clean with hot water, view with balcony. We had organised our trek through their very helpful travel desk, whom were keen to know how it went on our return. As there were... More

We stayed here for 5 nights which was 3 nights more than planned due to being fog bound at the airport and couldn't get to Lukla to start our trek. Each night we were given a new room so have tried a fair few as stayed here on our return too and each was what I would expect for a... More

We have stayed there many times over the last fifteen years. It is in a good location (manic Thamel) and the super deluxe rooms are fine and reasonable value- particularly in the recently completed new wing. The garden is peaceful and a lovely place to sit and have a drink. The staff are very helpful. I have removed one star... More

Stayed at the Kathmandu Guest House April 30 to May 3, 2012 in a "super deluxe" room located in their recently-opened new wing. Both the "super deluxe" and regular "deluxe" roooms are very good value. They area also quiet at night (which is important in Kathmandu). The food and drinks were good quality and reasonably priced. If you want to... More

Stayed here on the 3rd and 12th May 2012 - at the beginning and end of a trek. I would have preferred to have remained in a tent, doing my business in a hole and being eaten by mossies. The place is filthy - I stayed in two different rooms - both equally poor. The bathrooms disgusting, the beds hard... More

This hotel was recommended to me by the travel agent I booked my flights through. I found it to be completely overpriced and from the moment I arrived the staff insisted I use their travel desk to book any travel plans in Nepal. I thought that was fair enough but everytime I returned to the hotel after exploring Kathmandu I... More
