I've stayed at the Manang every year since 2008, and have to echo the reviewer below: it keeps improving. This time we stayed in one of the refurbished twin rooms on the fourth floor for two weeks. These rooms easily match hotel standards in Europe/the US, the new wet rooms are great, the beds are comfortable, the decor is tasteful... More

This was our fifth visit to this hotel. Our room had just been renovated - tastefully done, comfortable beds and the bathroom was amazing. The staff are a delight and cannot do enough for you. The buffet breakfast is varied and good. But the real revelation was dinner in the Base Camp restaurant - the grilled fish and steak are... More

I stayed in the hotel in 2010 and again in April 2012. The management are gradually upgrading the rooms and hte new wet rooms and new mattresses are a great improvement. Staff are so helpful. Breakfast is plentiful and something for everyone. Cakes in the coffee shop are to die for! Will definately use again. Happy to store cases for... More

I spent just over two weeks in this hotel in a basic room. It was fine, but what I discovered is that the other hotels I have been in Nepal are much the same (I was in Nepal for over a month). This place is not worth the extra money compared to a cheaper place. Beds are very hard, which... More

This hotel is located in the main tourist area but is not very noisy. Staff are professional and helpful. Good breakfasts. Size of room and bathroom good, reasonably clean (carpeted unfortunately). On the downside: bedding very hard, walls stained, tacky interior. More

This hotel gives excellent value for money if you want to stay in Thamel, can be a bit noisy front side, but back it's nice and quiet. Internet worked fine in my room and the hotel can't be blamed for the load sharing in Nepal. Restaurant serves good food to an acceptable price, and their organic coffee is probably the... More

For some reason I kind of liked this hotel, though by American standards it's a bit disastrous. The location is great and the staff is extremely nice. For what my company was paying, I didn't expect anything fancy. That said, here are things that travelers should know: 1) The internet doesn't work in the rooms--the signal is incredibly weak, even... More

We stayed at the Hotel Manang at the start and end of an Everest Base Camp trip. We found the hotel to be in a good position - close enough to shops/bars/restaurants of Thamel but not so close that you're affected by the noise. Our room was fine - the beds were a bit hard, and the electricity seemed a... More
