So I know Kathmandu quite well - I have stayed at the Hyatt, Dwarikas, Yak & Yeti. I would say that this hotel is a bit behind Dwarikas and Hyatt as a hotel but way better in terms of location. Hyatt and Dwarikas are really far away. Yak & Yeti is really more like Yuck & Yeti so Kantipur Temple... More

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in a deluxe room overlooking the courtyard. Wonderful architecture and feeling, especially in the garden/courtyard. Great location just outside Thamel...a quiet refuge. Very friendly staff. They are a 'green' hotel with no A/C so if you don't like the heat at night, this is not the place for you...also, no elevator! Bathroom... More

We stayed here for two nights. It's in a good location, and it's easy to walk to the main attractions, but it is quiet. The good points: the room was very big and on the one side overlooked the inner courtyard, which was quite charming. The staff were friendly and accommodating, happy to answer questions, book restaurants etc. The breakfast... More

After the nerve-racking journey from the airport into the tourism center of Kathmandu, walking into the peaceful courtyard of Kantipur Temple House was a welcome relief! The architecture of the hotel is as beautiful as it looks on their web site, and the courtyard has a lovely fountain with seating areas available for relaxing or dining. The hotel is well... More

Stayed here for four nights in March. Great location away from the hustle and bustle of Thamel, but for sixty pounds (approx USD 90.00) overpriced. We stayed in a standard room with two twin beds. It was simple and tastefully decorated, with drinking water topped up every day. Rooms were dark and smelt of damp a little and the bathroom... More

Presented as the best local hotel in Kathmandu. The building is nice, but lacks elevator (that's what you get when going for old buildings). Rooms are small, bathroom was basic, beds are not really comfortable. Power shedding cripples the aircon following a schedule. Breakfast was ok, but nothing fancy. For our second night in kathmandu (9 days later), we went... More

You don't get a lot for your money at Kantipur. The bathrooms are a bit rundown and the bed a bit hard, but everything is very clean and the sheets are comfortable. Don't get me wrong, I actually like the place. It has a very authentic feel that is similar to Dwarika house but without the even more expensive price... More

It was very peaceful. I loved the architecture and the place was so quiet. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was ok kind of expensive unless it is included. I wish they had water refill station on every floor, (they don't like you to bring in plastic, but they provide water in jugs for you) so I don't... More

Got a 3 night stay from Feb 29 to March 3rd with 2 rooms. Reception very poor, Check in very bad, Front Desk Clerk upon check in in pm very rude and not welcoming. We arrived in the room, view was on a wall and bathroom was a disaster, we call to ask for another one and he told us... More
