My second time in Potala Guest House and again it was pleasant experience. This hotel is clean and it has one of the best location in Kathmandu with friendly and helpful stuff. My room was clean and comfortable. It is going to be my hotel next time I visit Kathmandu., More

I have to preface this by saying that traveling in the Third World on a budget requires some concessions. Those expecting five star elegance should look elsewhere. But if you want a clean and comfortable room for a budget price, I can heartily recommend the Potala Guest House. I travel to Kathmandu many times a year and I always stay... More

It's hard to get excited about the rooms here, these are just so so. Hotel's courtyard is pleasant though can be a curse in case someone starts a party there in the nightime. The cost is above average. The reason to be here is that the hotel has excellently trained and reliable staff and very good management which is not... More

I reserved this hotel online a month prior to arriving with my only request being a quiet, comfortable room. I was assured in my confirmation that a ''garden-facing" double room was reserved for us. When we eventually get to the hotel after our very long flights, they give me the keys to a noisy road-facing, completely dirty with trash piled... More

I chose this hotel upon recommendation from a friend who had stayed here before. It was also due to the location that's quite central and easy access to everything you can think of. The hotel location is smackdabbed between shops, doesn't have that much of an appeal. My check-in was fairly smooth, the staff at the front desk thought i... More

I have to start by admitting that I stayed at the Potala Guest House (total of 5 nights) as part of an organized trip so I don't actually know how much the rooms cost. This means i can't tell you if the hotel is worth the price. I stayed in a deluxe room which was VERY spacious, with a full-service... More

Arrived at 11pm with guide from trekking co. who helped with the desk clerk. Coming straight from the airport with no daytime yet in Kathmandu, the approach was a bit scary. Bars on the windows, at the entrance, and a laughing, crazy drunk from the place next door. The room on the 4th floor was clean, but dingy, and the... More

I purchaced a bus ticket of Kathmandu-Bhairawa from Potala Guest House. The hotel manager charged me 1100 Rupees and told me it's a "spacious and deluxe" bus. However when I got to the bus station, I found out it was just a regular bus, crowded, packed, and dirty. There is another English passenger, she bought ticket from another agent and... More
