We are a Thai Traditional Medicine Center as well as a guesthouse, a school and a rural spa -- we offer no exotic treatments. We also welcome small conferences and workshop groups. We're family run, have resident therapists, and accept long-stay guests who are independent and not easily bored. Very quiet, very simple, nowhere to go but being here.

I tried to book a massage at this place through email but was asked to call. I called and called every number I can find but nobody answered. The next day somebody replied to my email and said they were too busy preparing for a group and I can try calling in a week or two. What a joke, who do these people think they are? Save yourself the trouble, just visit any massage place in Chiang Mai for less of a hustle and probably a better massage.

Being a Thai myself, I was a bit skeptical about the place (no AC?!). However, after reading a few reviews and seeing it on a traveling show, I decided to give it a try. We only stayed for one night because the place was fully booked. Guests have to understand that THIS PLACE IS NOT A HOTEL. This place is a full-on traditional Thai living experience with an AWESOME massage. This place will take you back about 50 years ago when Thai wooden houses are still lifted above ground with common area and bathroom under it. Homprang and Christopher (the owners) treated us like their friends so don't expect a five-star service. The feeling was like visiting my grandmother house. The massage is a must try. I have my fair share of massages and spas in Thailand be it expensive, cheap, in a luxury hotel, or on the street, BUT by far, a Thai massage here is THE BEST I ever had in my entire life. So if you are not addicted to the comfort of a hotel, and open to experience something from the past, a time capsule almost, then this place is a must try.

Went here for a 2 hour thai massage and a herbal steam bath.. Was nice and I'm glad I went (got to be in this cute place and it was different than other massage places) but wouldn't go again. I wish the lady had told me that she would be using a balm (tiger balm?) on me when she massaged me though because I'm vegan and I'm not sure what the balm contained.. If I was actually allergic to something, this would've been pretty bad!

I went to Bann Homprang some years ago, I attended A Thai Massage training, and stayed one full week. The quality of the training was so good. The place is beautiful, beautiful nature, excellent cooking, good accomodation, very loving Homprang and Christopher. I do recommend this place.

After a recommendation from a friend, I enrolled in a month long 150 hour training course in Thai Yoga massage with Hom Prang at her school. I cannot say enough about the friendly hospitality, home cooked authentic Thai food (she shops at the local markets daily), secluded quiet atmosphere in accommodation created from original Thai houses or rice barns. The massages are excellent and the daily herbal steam baths with a cold pool for a dip afterwards are terrific. You become part of their family. They also have bikes on hand and Christopher loves to give tours of the local countryside. It is an inexpensive Taxi or TukTuk ride from town and is much cooler as you get into more of the countryside.

I was there recently for a workshop, upon hitting the place for a citykid like me i had to learn to be still in my mind. I soon enjoyed the experience tremendously. Even though it is a family owned business they have a number of staff to keep the place running. Staff is always helpful and polite. Free wifi available. 7am yoga, you can pay for massage, herbal steam bath which is followed by a quick jump into the pool you'll be alive suddenly. Some people are there to learn thai massage, some for peace or meetings. But the crowd will always be small, you'll always feel peace and feel safe. Nobody lock their room doors and it has been a joy to learn to be at peace with yourself and nature. A great recharging experience for the inner being. Not good for people who are screamish about the occasional lizards, teak huts, family owned dogs, fishes and nature.

After an overnight train ride from Ayutthaya to Chiang Mai, me and my cousin wanted to relax and get in a good shower, steam and massage. So worth it. Quiet and secluded, we were given towels to wash the train ride off us and then head into an hour and a half to two hour massage in a screen enclosed, yet open room by masseuses. We took in a steam bath and loved the aroma of herbs. There was a little cool pool to relax in and have ginger tea. All tension and miles traveled melted in our 2+ hours at this piece of paradise. The price was definitely reasonable. I don't think I spent more than $50/person.

We visited friends studying the Baan Hom thai massage course. Our day began with an amazing two hour thai massage. The masseuse was a former student of Hom's and excellent. We then spent about an hour in the herbal steam room.. inhaling wonderful medicines between visits to the cool down pool outside. Our day ended with dinner and great company.
