We booked this room in advance, travelled overnight from Bangkok and arrived in Chiang Mai early in the morning (6am). Having not slept much we decided to find this guest house and see if we could check in. Despite having a reservation for the upcoming night, they quickly got a room ready and let us check in at 7am. The... More

We stayed for 3 nights in jan 2013. We paid 890bht for a twin room , with air con , tv,bathroom , in room safe and breakfast . We booked this room without realising that it was the week of the flower festival - so chiang mai was packed out , and room prices had gone up.so for this week... More

Saw this on tripadvisor and stayed here two nights. The lobby was deceptively modern and chic. The room less so - it looked a bit tired and sparse, albeit clean. The staff were friendly, but didn't speak much English. The breakfast included with my room was pretty good, and a great little area to sit outside while eating. Great location... More

Strategically located at a small quiet alley near the city plaza, walking distance away from Starbucks, Mc Donalds and Thapae gate. Lobby is a bit dirty and mosquitoes everywhere, there is no lift so its hard for someone who has a big bag, rooms are small but has a good airconditioning, bathroom needs some repainting and water supply on the... Rooms - The room was very small and quite old. You might get disappointed when you first enter the room as it's not as inviting as it should be. But if you'll be spending most of your time outside then it's fine (methinks). Amenities - Free wifi though the reception is horrible in the upper floors. - Free breakfast. We... More

I planned to stay here for 3 nights when I first arrived from Bangkok, and ended up staying 6. I went to a few of the cheaper places, and for one reason or another had a terrible nights sleep, so came back to Montrara and learnt it's definitely worth paying the extra couple of quid a night. It's a great... More

We are a couple in our 30's and needed a stay of one night after flying in from Bangkok. We booked in this hotel in advance based on the ratings and reviewes in Tripadvisor. The best thing about this experience was that its for one night only. Pros: Good location (to some), just on the outside of the eastern wall... More

Stayed in a so called junior suite which looks nice on the web photos. Room badly in need of refurbishment- the air conditioning was not working, water took a good 10 mins to flow from the basin, bath tub had ugly stains and the walls had cracks. Rates for this room is over priced and one can find better accommodations... More

Fantastic location in Chaing Mai, right next to a boots pharmacy, a 7-11, Tae Pae gate into the Old City of Chiang Mai and lots of lovely shops and restaurants in walking distance nearby. Staff are very friendly and really helpful, rooms cleaned daily with fresh bed linen and towels and reception will book tours/trips for you e.g Thai cooking... More
