We had 3 different rooms over 3 separate stays, all 3 presented very nice and clean. 1st night we had a very quiet room, we slept like a log, On our 2 returns we got rooms towards the street, these were more noisy, we still slept really well, we found the beds very comfortable. On our side trips away, the... More

Yes, Hanoi is noisy. Yes, the streets are narrow in the old town and yes, people do eat on the street until the wee hours in the morning. So if you fell more comfy with 24 hours coffe shops in american style hotels, not caring whether you are in Vietnam or Massachussets, this is NOT a place for you. but... More

The hotel located in the Old Quarter is rather tired, electrical outlets didn't work and our room was facing the road, next to the Backpackers and other bars. Very noisy during the day from the motorbikes, very noisy at night from the music in the bars. But a great location to get the atmosphere of Hanoi, don't rely on the... More

I stayed twice in the hotel. First time the forgot our early check-in, so they moved us to another simple hotel in the street. They made us happy with an upgrade afterwards. Second time they gave us a room at the top floor with constant noise of air conditioners at the roof. At last the staff refused to arrange a... More

My husband and I stayed in the Medallion hotel in April 2012. They were re-tiling the lobby floor for our 2 day stay so it was a bit of a building site! The staff were very apologetic about it and it didn't matter to us - but it was a mini an assault course getting in and out of the... More

We stayed here over three nights. Two nights we were inconvenienced by the renovating of the foyer, noisy, dirty and dangerous. Then on our last day the only lift was out of operation due to maintenance. We could have been at least informed before arrival of the inconvenience and offered some sort of discount or a complimentary dinner. Breakfast has... More

We stayed at the Medallion Hotel in Hanoi for four nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel is located in the old quarter in Hanoi - just step out the front door and you are in the midst of the chaos that is Hanoi. The hotel room was a little crowded because we had asked for the three of... More

We stayed here one night before our trip to Halong Bay and then 2 more nights on our return. The rooms were not large but very comfortable and we were able to have connecting rooms which was perfect with our primary-school aged children. Found the rooms to be very clean and we loved the pillows. All the staff in the... More

Two basic requirements after a long flight - good bed and hot shower. Unfortunately, no hot water and reception not helpful. Ended up washing hair in hand basin after boiling jug - not good. Had the Junior suite which looked great but the constant tooting of horns throughout the night made sleep difficult. 3 computers for public use - one... More

As part of an 11 day Vietnam tour, my husband and I stayed at the Hanoi Medallion Hotel for 3 nights. The rooms are great, big and roomy and very clean. The king size beds are very comfortable. The hotel is located in a small Hanoi street in the Ancient Quarter, very narrow streets, no access for the bus, so had... More
