The friendly hotel was a brilliant find. Its a lovely quiet hotel, an escape from the madness of hanoi. We looked all over old quater for a nice cheap room and everywhere was over our budget as travellers. The room was a very reasonable price and for a lovely room. It is a proper hotel. The staff helped us with... More

In Hanoi, we stayed at the Friendly Hotel for two nights after having it recommended to us by Asia Outdoors on Cat Ba Island. The room was fine, clean and comfy with an ensuite bathroom. There were also a couple of PC's downstairs in reception that were free to use. The hotel itself is centrally located in the Old Quarter... More

I stayed here for a night and a day and could not be more happy with the services. The staff is very friendly and it is located in a great spot for western and vietnamese food. The price you pay for the room is a bargain and recommend it as a nice alternative if you are tired of dorms.

It's in the perfect location in the centre of Old Town, where all the fun is. We took their cheapest room at $12 but it was really good for the price - very clean, hot water, cable TV, free wifi and a very well-made and comfortable bed. The staff are young and friendly and speak good English. Of course they... More

Han is lovely and so helpful. Our room was upgraded so we had a massive room! It was clean and the air conditioning worked. We booked both halong bay and our open bus tickets through Han. Halong bay was lovely albeit the weather. We had a problem with our bus tickets, we had the wrong ones and Han was on... More

The name of the hotel is completely true. The staff is very friendly. Very welcoming when you enter the hotel. Rooms are clean. Good beds! Soft bed and good pillows. Only no heater en no windows (only shutters) in the winter so it got very very cold in the room, when it was four degrees outside. Good wifi and free... More

At first, I was impressed with this guesthouse. We booked via booking.com about 45 minutes before turning up but because they didn't have any standard rooms left, they put us in a superior room at no extra cost. It was very large, clean, had a kettle, a/c etc etc. More than fine for a backpacker. My only gripe at this... More

Stayed in the friendly for 3 nights and also booked our cruise for Halong Bay (opera-a class) with Mr Han. Hotel was very good value and Mr Han was very helpful with booking our cruise and airport taxi. Excellent location right in the heart of old quarter and also excellent restaurants (New Day etc) right beside!
