This review regard Giang Son 2, on same street at Giang Son 1 AVOID GIANG SON 2 UNTIL THEY FINISH THEIR CONSTRUCTION INSIDE Seems like it would be a nice guesthouse and everything inside is nice for budget travelers. The issue: they are constructing new rooms in the hotel while still operating the hotel. I booked for three nights and... More

Top rated by LP? really? I found this place to be indifferent, down an alley jammed with scammers, touts, drunks, burned out expats. There is no security here so carry your valuables with you when out. Also, expect to be hassled on then road and all prices are 2X anywhere else in VN (water, snacks, etc.). Room was okay, a/c... We spent our last night at this hotel, and the service was excellent. Free breakfast, clean, spacious rooms with en suite bathroom (also very clean and good), air conditioner, and yummy coffee! Our hosts were so friendly and informative, and the atmosphere was relaxed, really great. If you don't mind stairs, ask for a room right on the fifth floor.... More

Very very friendly, family-run establishment. The receptionist was super-helpful and welcoming. Great location down a side-alley, right in the centre of Siagon, just next to the central park. Highly recommended.

Newer hotel in the middle of the backpacker area. Lots of hawkers pushing you to buy their trinkets all around the area. Staff was friendly and nice. Breakfast left something to be desired. Small ants were crawling all over the sugar bowl and bread. Pretty unapetizing. However, the eggs made to order were good. We booked late so we got... More

The hotel is centrally located in the backpackers area in District 1. It is around 10-15 minute walk to Ben Than Market, Notre Dame Cathedral and the Central Post Office. The room which we booked thru Agoda was immaculate. The meals which was included in our booking was basic which consisted of eggs, baguettes, bananas, coffee and juice. The hotel... More

2 of us stayed here for 3nights in january. The pick up arrangement from the airport was very smooth ($15 one way). We arrived at midnight, so no english speaking night staff however we were pleased to see that a very clear wriiten message was left regarding check in, and there were 2 young members who gave us a cold... We stayed at Giang and Son 2,for 3 nights when we were in Saigon. The receptionist Minh is absolutely amazing! She is so lovely, caring, friendly and funny! She made our stay so enjoyable and told us were to go for the best pho soup in town, among lots of other useful things. The hotel itself is in a great... More

When we arrived, the receptionist was pretty much asleep and wasn't able to speak clearly. A bit anemic service continued during our stay, although I guess all basic needs were covered. Breakfast which is included in the price is quite simple but good: 2-egg omelet, a bread, a cup of coffee and a banana. The location is at PNL (HCMC's... More

Don't go there just because it's on Lonely Planet's top list. Made a reservation by phone. They offered to have us picked up for 15 US $ from the airport, which is way too expensive. After we arrived, we were offered a room with one bed instead of the requested room with two. As we were ready to leave and... More
