This hotel has been completely renovated after taken over from the previous owner . I book a special room from Agoda website on 8 Feb 2015 . The room is small and has no window but well appointed with all facilities like desktop computer, tv, fridge, iron board, DVD disc player , Japanese style pyjamas but no in house safe. The toilet is clean with branded liquid soap and shampoo. The morning breakfast is just a normal French bread toast with eggs to your choice or Vietnamese noodle soup. Having a night stay here is comfortable and recommended to a budget value.

Stayed for one night whilst on our way to nha trang. We stayed here as my partner was sick and we needed somewhere as soon as we got out of the taxi and lonely planet recommended. The price was $20 and as this was much more than we usually pay we expected a good room. We were wrong...the room wasnt much bigger than the bed with no window. The fan and aircon was quite noisy and the bathroom mouldy and smelly with a dirty shower curtain. The bed was the hardest we have slept on but was clean. The staff at reception were very friendly and helpful whenever we dealt with them, the also arranged our late checkout for $10 as my partner was still ill. Breakfast was included, very simple but tasty enough.

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The staffs were very friendly & helpful. The facilities are nice. The hotel is located Close to night market and tourist area. the breakfast is good. I like the attentive service most of all and the staff goes all way out to look into your every request to make sure that we have a most pleasant stay which we did. Our group definitely had a most enjoyable and memorable time there and would recommend this hotel anytime.

Stayed here with my dad for two nights and its really in a very good location, with the travel companies and bus operators just next door so it's easy and convenient to book bus tickets and board the buses. Reception staff all spoke English, though it may take a few gestures and simplistic explanation to ask about certain things. Very friendly and helpful. Room wasn't fantastic but clean. Duvet was super dirty with stains and caught two spiders. Bed sheets were clean and changed. Hot and cold shower available. Wifi was fast despite me being on the sixth floor, so here I am typing this! Breakfast was just a baguette with omelette and coffee, though there's a variety to choose from. Would be better to have your brekkie viet style outside on the streets with the locals! Would definitely come back for its great location to all the pubs, eateries, shopping and attractions!

I stayed at Orient Hotel for 2 nights in Feb. 2011. I also stayed at this same hotel for a week in Mar. 2005 (6 years ago!), and nothing had changed with management and service -- generally, a positive. The hotel is located in Pham Ngu Lao in an extremely convenient location. The room rate is on the high side for the district, however, you get what you pay for in this case with premium rooms and cleanliness. The breakfast is good, but you can do much better in value steps outside the hotel entrance -- so try to remove breakfast if you can get a reduced room rate. Downside was the WiFi strength was not strong enough in the room (on 3rd floor), but no issues in lobby or restaurant. They need to install some more wireless routers in the building. I'd definitely stay here again.

I felt like I stepped into 1960's Vietnam when I came into this place. For me this was a good thing. It's to experience once in your life and never again. The outside of the hotel is very nice looking, but the room is quite dated. I immediately noticed a mosquito stench which some incense cleared up. As for the mosquitos, be prepared to run the a/c on high constantly to keep from getting bitten. The bathroom wasn't too bad. The upside was that the mattress, a Kymdan clone, was an absolute pleasure to sleep on. The free breakfast is decent but not incredibly tasty. One main thing the hotel lacked were computers as I didn't bring my own. Overall I enjoyed my several day stay at the hotel. It was a much better deal than the An An 2 down the street. Even with no windows it was easier to get a night's sleep and the room didn't feel "creepy" either.

We chose this hotel as in LP's SE Asia on a shoestring guide. They wanted to charge us $20, though we got it down to $17. We were given key to room, only to find that room was not ready. Sheets dirty and used bottles of water on the side. We waited for room to be cleaned. I was felling bit rough, so wanted to sleep. Turned out every other room on our floor was being gutted with drills and hammers. It was soooo loud. And dust everywhere. Breakfast was poor. So checked out as soon as possible. Staff were friendly enough but they shouldnt be selling rooms if not fit for guests

We had booked a room for four people for 4 nights on the internet at USD 40/ night. We were offered a first floor room with two queen size beds - no soap in the bathroom and no toilet paper either. The room was tiny so we placed one of our bags on top of the closet - there was a huge cloud of dust accompanying it when we took it down a few hours later. Apparently dusting had not been done in our room for a long time. The room was really worn down. We left our luggage and went out to see the city - when we arrived later in the afternoon we were met by a cockroach in the bathroom which was disgusting - and the drop that made us leave. We took our luggage and went down to the reception where we were offered another room but not the possibility of a refund. The staff was polite but not friendly - there wasn't any smiles on their faces at any time. We just left and decided to forget about the USD 40 we had paid for nothing. We found a brand new three star hotel at USD 60/night for the four of us to replace Orient - only 10 minutes away. We ended up spending 4 super nights there (Blue Diamond).
